A Guide to Dual Action Polishing : PDF Format

PDF DA Polishing Guide

Above is a link to a pdf formatted guide to Dual Action Polishing.

This is a beta version of the document, so I appreciate all feedback on mistakes and suggestions for improvement throughout please. :)

Nevertheless, I hope that this document proves a useful reference for DA users of many levels, beginner or not. :)

Cheers,

Dave KG

I just took an initial look at this thing and WOW is all I can say. Looks like a great deal of hard work and effort.

Looking forward to reading it more! This needs to be stickied!

Yet another wonderful guide by Dave! I have to find some time to look over these!

Thanks again Dave... looking forward to more of your guides!

nice.

Just looking at the first few pages, you listed the LC Green pad as a heavy cutting pad.

Also, i can understand why you don't want to spend too much time on it, but the polish list might me a little short. There are some pretty popular choices that are absent. You still have enough room on the page to add one of those

hmm, n/m i see you went into more later.

kudos on a great guide

I noticed that for PB SSR1/SSR2 that a finishing pad is recommended. The recommended pad is usually a white pad for both SSR1 and SSR2.

Try them on a finishing pad and see what happens, especially on softer paints :) I found myself by DA being able to get a slightly sharper finish less prone to micromarring (on soft, dark solid colours) using a finishing pad - I'm also quite a fan of softer pads myself. :)

But for a little more cut, you would need to use them on a polishing pad. :)
