A Guessing Game: Is this car wearing wax or sealant?

I ordered my first Klasse AIO and SG kit about a month ago and I am just amazed with the results. I have never used a product so good in my life. The question I have now....is the rest of my wax collection useless? I still have plenty of MOTHERS CARNUBA and MEGUIARS GOLD CLASS WAX left. Is it bad to put these products on after I have used the AIO and SG? Is there any benefit to doing so?

Well many agree that the wax give the shine more depth and if that pleases you, then a wax topper would be good. However, some of us are having problems with haze, but still not sure if it is the wax over the Klasse that is causing that....

The Gold Class has mild cleaners in it that may remove some of the SG or AIO, so you may want to avoid it. The Mother's pure carnauba does not hurt though. If you plan on putting more coats of SG on, you may want to skip the wax, becuase it prevents proper bonding of the SG. I have a black car and five coats of SG looks amazing. The black is a very dark black.

I just want to make sure that the Klasse will be good enough by itself to protect my car. I know that Carnuba has natural oils that moisturize the paint....is that not needed?!?

I would love it if Klasse were all I ever needed to use because I love the stuff and it is so easy to work with.

Klasse is definitely more than enough for long lasting protection. The wax is more for increasing the depth of the shine and maybe for water beading if the Klasse alone tends to sheet on your car. Thinking back to the Klasse alone before I put the wax on, the shine was still very pleasing to all but the most critical eye. So the wax is definitely optional. I am waiting for the Blackfire to see if it will give the shine with enough depth that I won't need/want wax as a topper. It promises, based on some of the preliminary comments to do just that.

I have a million coats of KSG on my car and then I started with the carnuba coats. You can't put Klasse over carnuba so now I put a coat of that on once every 2 weeks or so. Because most of the waxes I keep around have cleaners in them I got the Pinnacle Paste Glaz carnuba. It gives my white car a glow that I never got with the Klasse alone. I still have that awesome reflection, shine and protection of the Klasse but Now I have the warm glow of the carnuba. Get some Pinnacle. If you have a dark car I hear the souveran wax can't be beat. If you have a light colored car then the paste glaz is really amazing. It isn't really needed but it does enhance the look of your car greatly.

Dk is right. Paint does not need moisturizes. As for the Klasse SG. It is a great product. It will provide you with MUCH more protection than any carnauba will. No contest. However, a carnauba will give a bit more depth to the paint. Many of us who use Klasse like to follow up with a quality carnauba. Laters.

There have been numerous threads asking ?guess what wax is on this car? in an attempt to prove/disprove the value of high end waxes.

This is a similar thread with a twist.

Instead of guessing the particular wax (which is a daunting task), lets make it a bit easier and guess if this vehicle is wearing wax or sealant.

So, take a guess... Wax or sealant?

Looks like it has it a LSP on it, now let me think about it first. Now does it a has a wax or sealant.......:banghead:

OK... I'll bite.

It's a sealant. Why? Three reasons.

1. I like sealants
2. I don't like wax
3. It looks good, therefore it must be a sealant:devil::devil::devil:

Hmm...my first reaction was a sealant but then I second-guessed myself and decided to pick 'wax'. Personally, I don't know that there is that much of a recongnizable difference between a good wax and a good sealant - at least in terms of viewing it in a photograph. Up close may be another story.

I just want to know where that freaky gnome-like creature with the white beard came from? I noticed him in the reflection off the paint in the first picture (between the rear tire and tail light). That isn't you, is it Deep Gloss? :scared:

LOL! Now I'm a little creeped out after going back up to the pic to see it. Looks like a dragon head in the dark reflection directly above the gnome.
