Anyone using these? how effective have they proven to be? I've been thinking about getting one of these professionally made, anyone know where I can get one made for a low price? also, any suggestions on what it should have written on it? Sorry if all the questions are overwhelming to some of you. Your advice is greatly appreciated, its been really slow for me these last couple weeks and just trying to put my name out there now that I've gone full time on this.

not sure on the prices of them but i have always thought about setting something like that up when doing mobile work like near the truck, on the street or sidewalk just for advertising sake.

I'm going to look into that now LoL.

Do you have a fixed location? You could set an A-frame sign when doing mobile work, however, it is not going to flood you with business. Do you have a good website? If not, it is absolutely a necessity these days. In addition, you social media to get your name out there.

I do not have a shop, just do details out of my home and mobile. I do have a web site, its on my profile, I'm still working on it. I just sent my web page guy an email to ask him about making a note somewhere on my site letting people know that I offer free shuttle service. Hopefully that will bring in more business along with a 25% coupon for the next 30 days. I'm seriously considering putting up one of those a boards you find at ikea where one side is chalk and the other a white board outside of my place on the main road. This would only be temporary, although I could use it along with the professional one to update it with any specials I may be running. What do you guys think? I always see coffee shops doing this and I never thought it looked tacky.

I use one when doing mobile detailing. I didn't pay to have it made though, all you need is a couple pieces of wood, hinges and small length of chain. It's pretty simple if you decide to just set a white board on it (easy to change daily specials). If you decide to have something permanently attached to it then you can have a local sign company make you something to attach to it. All we did was paint it by hand, the point of the A-Frame is to catch attention and get the point across, MOBILE AUTO DETAILING, for example.

You defiantly have to check your local laws on it. after looking into it I found a lot of local towns and such made them illegal or added a cost to using them that was well out of the range of making them worthwhile.

google "signicade" and have a local graphics guy do the vinyl stickers. i bought an insert that was made of pvc plastic and had 2 different things on it, one on each side.

I ended up having someone somewhat local (lakewood wa) make the sign for me just yesterday. It looks very nice and feels very sturdy. Ended up paying $140, best price I could find on one locally. Hope this helps, I plan on just placing it on busy roads and waiting near by on those days when I have nothing lol. Thanks for your comments guys.

if you have a design, my graphics guy made up some lawn signs for me, i can see what cost and shipping would be to you. they are basically an "H" that uses double sided plastic panels and you slide them in the grass of the house/street you are on. i never used them but my wife has a children's ent business and hers say: entertainment provided by "X" and her phone number. they are for guest who leave with out asking for a card or if she is busy. heck she has even had neighbors of clients that werent invited to the party but saw her there call. i am having some made for days when i visit business complexes with those small lawns at the entrance, might direct those stragglers toward me.

I'd be careful leaving signs out in front of developments. Many developments have a no soliciting policy and if their employees see them they'll toss em or possibly fine you if they see you working there for violating their policy. Just a heads up.
