A few questions where everyone has an answer!

Hey guys, how often do you guys wash you mf towles and wash mitts. I wash them after each detail, wondering if that is wearing down their durability? Also, how do you apply your sealants ie: EX-P. I have been using the little meg's yellow foam pads (by hand) and dont seem to get the desired results, what are your favorite pads to apply your sealants, also do PB PVA pads work? Thankyou and I look forward to your answers!

I wash my mf towels after each use. Say I take off a coat of EX with one, it goes in the "wash box" when the box is full, I wash them. I never use a MF more than once before a wash.

I hand wash (with Woolite) my M/F's after each use and hang to dry. Then I fold them right(plush) side out so they are not used again.
When I've used them all, I do a machine wash with MicroFiber Restore, machine dry, fold them, plush side in, and put away in the drawers.

I wash my micros in the washingmachine. I use hot water. Hang dry and put each individual towel in a plastic bag. I use the Poorboy's PVA sponge to apply sealants. I find it's easier to lay down thinner coats. My mitts are washed right after I finish the car. I just load them up with the carwash suds and blast them with a jet stream of water. In the winter I handwash my mitts with dish detergent so I don't get soaked.

When I finish taking something off I discard the MF, when my box is full then I wash. I wash my MFs with Tide Free in a washing machine. Dry them with low heat. I also put them in baggies. When I used EX I used a Meg's yellow foam pad in a back and forth motion. I do have a PBs pad, but have not used it yet.

I use my MF once and put on the side, when there's enough I wash them in warm water w/ Woolite, then put them in the dryer on delicate. (I read somewhere that heat can damage them)

I machine wash my towels and mitts in warm water with Liquid Tide detergent. I also machine dry them on low heat. I normally do not generate enough soiled towels from a single detail to make up a load of laundry. So I will rinse out the soiled towels in the sink, wring them out, then place them into a plastic supermarket bag. This removes a large portion of the residue and prevents the remainder from drying up in the fabric. I have one bag for MF and another for cotton. When the bag fills up, I do a load of laundry. Note: This method requires that you have an ample supply of towels on hand.

For sealants, I like using a couple different types of applicators depending upon the thickness of the sealant. For thin/watery sealants, I use regular round yellow foam applicators. For thick/creamy sealants, I use Poorboy's PVA applicators.

MF towels are used per product & put aside when that product application is completed. Always use a new towel with a different product.

I've had better luck applying sealants & waxes evenly with one of the MF-enclosed sponge applicators. Second choice would be a terry applicator.

IMHO, the MF seem to absorb less product than foam and, because you can really grab or "pinch" the MF applicator, I feel that I'm applying a thin layer of product with even force. The applicator is doing the work, not my fingertips applying pressure through the foam pad.

When I'm finished I put the soiled towels & applicators in a bucket of soapy water and squeeze them, working the soapy water through and, hopefully, remove most of the product residue. Then I transfer them to a bucket of clean water & let 'em sit until I accumulate enough for a small load.

I wash them in hot water (mine is 128*) with a bleach-free detergent and then I "wash" them again with no detergent to clean out all the soap residue.
Actually I'm just rinsing them but putting them through a full wash cycle does a better job via more aggitation.

I've noticed no determental effects washing them in hot water.

I hang 'em to dry 'cause they dry fast, then they're folded & put back in the Wal-mart Sterilite containers I picked up. They're transparent, stackable, and easily transportable (if necessary) ..... very handy.

Washing your micro fibres. I think you got alot of good advice on that one. Applying your sealant. I use the DA (aka PC). When I apply the sealant by hand it just dose not feel as slick as it dose with the DA. I put a little on a finishing pad and buzz it on nice and smooth.

Good luck.

I wash my MFs after each use. Foam pads too.

I've been using the little blue MF covered foam pad for my sealant and the little yellow foam pads for applying waxes. Except for P21S I use the little foam pad that comes with it. I've tried bare fingers, but it seems like it requires more pressure than using a foam pad.
