A Diesel Silverado, Titanium Metallic 4Runner, Violet Integra, detailed

Definately the coldest details of the year. The Silverado was luckily done inside as it was raining and 40* that day. However, with the 4Runner and Integra, the temperature was around 30*. It was at the point where the water froze to the side in the shade :(.

For the Silverado, I was giving it a good once over before winter hit. I applied Duragloss #111 to it a little over 5 months ago and it was still beading well with some slickness remaining. The owner washes it every 10-14 days with Griot's Wash and the occasional Speed Shine and garages it nightly. Today I:

-TOL Bubble Bath Wash

-Polished entire nose, chrome, lighting, grained plastic and lower panels with AIO by hand

-Applied 4* UPP by hand to paint, chrome, grained plastic, glass, lighting

-FK1 #425 to touch up

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells

-Wolfgang Tire Gel on tires

-PB TR on tonneau cover

For the 4Runner, the Turbo Wax Sealant was still holding up after 4+ months with bi-weekly Griot's washes. It beaded very well, was reasonably slick, and looked great. The vehicle is garaged nightly. This time, the owner (same) wanted the same services, so I:

-TOL Bubble Bath Wash

-OCW by hand

-FK1 #425 to touch up

-Meguiar's Hyper Dressing for wells/tires/undercarriage

Last up, the Violet Teg. I am quite mad right now as my camera died as I was taking pictures and none of the taken were saved :(. The owner, thankfully, was able to take some pics and send them to me. I wish I hate an upclose flake shot, as the car came out rather nice with this new combo. Anyways, my finals were:

-QEW with warm water

-Optimum Clay with S+W lube

-OCP via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1200 rpm

-Menzerna PO 85RD via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1500 rpm

-Zaino Z6

-Zaino Z2 Pro on paint, wheels, windows

-Zaino Z8

-Wolfgang Tire Gel on tires

-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells/front grille

-PB TR on plastic/rubber trim

As usuall your work ends up great! :2thumbs:

Just one question, why do you work the PO85RD at 1500RPM and not a lower speed? it usually works better for me at lower speeds as we have less cutting action and also more workable time.

Excellent job on all three!!!

Do you like to apply your Z2pro so thin that you can't see it till it hazes over?

Do you do anything special to the glass before you Z2pro them? Inside too? Do you also do the windshield?

beautiful details once again Sean. Excellent pictures as always, too bad about the Integra. You take mucvh better pictures. :D

PS: Did you ever use #1000??? I've been looking for that thread. :)

Typical superb work, Sean. :)

I bet that truck was fun to wash in rainy 40 degree weather. Even with QEW, cars are a bear to dry under those conditions. BTW, what did you use on the plastic trim on the bumper? It has a really nice new look.

All very nice details, especially the violet 'Teg.

I've never thought about using UPP on trim. Looks pretty good, I might have to try it myself.
