A black on black Yamaha R1 with candy chrome wheels

First off,

Sick bike. Yeah, street bikes are always cool, but this one truly looks like its breaking the law just sitting still. The lines are gorgeous as is the color combo (I'm partial to red wheels!).

Bike was in excellent shape. It has about every bolt-on offered (titanium header/exhaust, comp programmer, etc.) and candy chromed wheels (powder coated red, then chromed). It had a couple scuffs here and there from passenger neglect and a few swirls. I did the whole thing by hand and spent just shy of 3 hours. I removed both seats and the mirrors. I covered every square inch of the bike from 4 different angles. Rule of thumb with bikes:

"When you think you're done, you're not"

Final processes:

-Poorboy's S+W on everything but tires

-Hi-Temp Heavy Cut by hand and MF applicator x 2

-Menzerna PO 85RD by hand and MF applicator x 2

-Klasse AIO x 2 on EVERYTHING but tires

-FK1 #2180 by hand

-OCW by hand x 2

-FK1 #425 for touch-ups

-Poorboy's Trim Restorer on hoses and plastic trim

no dressing on the tires?!?!? just joking.

really nice bike. you're right, it looks like it's breaking the law just standing still.

My favorite crotch rocket, ever. I love those. It's called a "Raven" edition and they are just sick looking. I really like what he did with the wheels, and that Akrapovic exhaust costs a pretty penny. Wonder if it's tuned well? I can't believe the header towards the bottom of the bike is that discolored. Anyways, awesome bike, awesome detail. AIO is a life saver on a bike.

Very nice! My friend has a R6 (I think, I know nothing about bikes) same color (black with a little bit of gold flakes). Bikes are a little too fast for me, well at least too fast for having no metal around you.

Here is his bike.

That blueing is natural for a titanium header

I thought that might be the case. After I posted, I remembered the tip of exhaust that stuck out past my titanium Jardine RT-One (race baffle :spot ) had started to blue like that. Even the pipe on my V-Rod is bluing right where it comes off the engine, and it's been dyno tuned. Thank God for heat shields.

Wow, fantastic work Sean. An amazing machine... don't think I'd ever be brave enough to ride one flat out though.

Awesome job, Sean! The bike looks amazing! :)

"When you think you're done, you're not"--truer words have never been spoken! Applies even more with Harleys!

Thanks all.

I agree with all of the compliments toward the bike. This was a true piece of art. The titanium exhaust spoke such a deep growl, very different from any street bike I've heard.
