GOT PREP?
Detailed this car over the weekend. These are really nice cars to drive, they feel great on the highway. :D

The owner is going to sell the car and wanted the paint to “shine and wanted a few deeper scratches addressed. He also wanted the interior and engine detailed.

The process was:

Wash

Clay

Wet sand a few problem areas with Meguiars unigrit 3000 grade paper

Hi-Temp extreme cut via rotary polisher and a meguiars polishing pad @1500RPM’s

Meguiars #80 via PC and a meguiars polishing pad @speed 5

Two thin coats of Meguiars #21

The interior was vacuumed, cleaned with cotsco APC 10:1, then wiped down with microfiber.

Engine was degreased, then dressed with eagle one pro water-based dressing 1:1.

Tires are dressed with Meguiars #40.

I didn’t get to take as many after shots before the owner needed the car back by a certain time, but I think you get the idea.

This was an area of concern for the owner, someone placed a box here, then slid it off.

Great work! I really wonder if the owner will sell it now. I would have a hard time taking it to a dealer for a trade. A new one would not look any better.

Every time I sneak on and read your posts you have nightmare black cars! And every time you bring them back from what initially look like beyond the brink. Awesome work indeed!

Nice! I've got a black Benz too and they do shine up nicely with the proper effort. I've owned two, and despite hating the black at times on my first one, when it was totalled I didn't even think twice about getting another black one. The solid black does much better than the Obsidian metallic black too as it is one of the best blacks out there when polished properly. It is simply black glass!

I'd be very curious to hear about the owners reaction.

I also am curious about which area of the car shows the after picture for the damaged area that you wet sanded.

P.S. What is *56k* NO supposed to mean?

56K NO means that the pictures are big, so if you are running a 56K modem (instead of broadband/DSL) then you shouldn't bother cuz the download will take alll day!

yeah very nice job, my fatherinlaw has the same exact vehicle, i just detailed it a few weeks ago, i got an s500 tommorow with horrible swirls and oxidation ill take lots of pics. black benz week i suppose.

I couldn't help but think the same thing! I don't think I could bring myself to part with the car after such a transformation.

Awesome work as always, ebpcivicsi!

BTW, you still riding around in the Accord wagon? That car was a great turnaround and should be easy to work out of.
