A Black Mazda 2 with a little 'Red Devil'

Gen2

This Mazda 2 was badly swirled up and with quite a number of deep scratches on it. I suspected some of those deep scratches were not going to come off even after a few round of compounding.

After washing and claying the car, I started off using the rotary with IP/RMG and the orange pad @ 1400rpm, but it seemed like it is not cutting out the defects fast enough. Than I switched to the cutting pad instead, most of the defects came off faster but buffer swirls were introduced. However, those buffer swirls were easily taken care with the DA using IP/RMG and the orange pad @ speed 5. Here’s how it looked like after the above 2 steps.

As you can see from the photos, some of the deeper scratches were still there and I felt I need to do a lot more cutting to get them out, so I decided not to go ahead with it.

Next I applied the Pink Moose using the DA with a blue polishing pad @ speed 4 and followed by a coat of Victoria Concours Red Wax with a foam applicator. The result is really amazing,

Lots of pictures in this posting and I hope you guys like it. Any comments and questions are all welcome, and thank you for the patience looking through the posting.

Great work as always. How do you like the Vic Concours as compared to CMW followed by JW Carnauba Jett?

Once again thanks for all the continous support and kind compliments.

Sludge - So far I have tried the VW Concours on a few different color cars and black turns out to be the best, with red very close on the second.

Scottwax - I would really like to hear your comments on this Concours Wax, personally I feel it really stands out in the depth area.

DTailN - I find that the CMW and the JW CJ combo looks slightly better in term of shine and the VW Concours is slightly stronger in term of depth. In fact I have yet to try the VW Concours and the JW CJ combo, maybe I will get the best of both world :D .

audicoupej - Indeed, I have many customers owning Mazda car, especially Mazda 3, but yet to detail a CX7 :p .

DieselMDX - Hopefully I am not gulity for tempting you to spend more money on wax :grinno: but if you own a black car and love that deep wet look, than most likely you will not be disappointed with VW Concours wax.
