Hello everyone, this is just a post of my 1999 Grand Prix GTP. Sorry no before pictures, I was working at night. Vehicle had moderate swirling with some light scratches on the trunk. I tried to get the best sun pictures I could but lately here in Michigan it hasn't been too great. It's a nice day today, but currently Im at work so I will post some full sun shots tonight. Enjoy!

Process:

Wash, no need for clay it was done last month

Optimum Polish via orange pad, hardly anything happened

Optimum compound via polishing pad, got almost all the swirls out

Followed by #80 Speed Glaze

Klasse AIO windows and rims

I forgot to order Nattys in my order (oops) :hairpull so i had to deal with jus putting on EX with carnuba

Tires got Poorboys Bold n Bright

Is Pontiac paint generally hard? The reason I ask is because I believe that Maxima's have a fairly hard coat of paint, and it takes a lot to get imperfections out. Would Optimum Compound with a polishing pad (PC) be more effective than Sonus SFX-1 with an Orange DAS cutting pad at speed 6?

edit: by the way, looks good!

I thought it was pretty hard, but that's comparing it to honda paint which I worked on the day before. I would try Optimum Compound personally over the SFX-1 just because the finish is almsot LSP ready. And it may be safer to use than jumping right in with a cutting pad. I think you'll be suprised if you use Optimum, just follow it with a less abrasive polish and all your troubles will disappear :) Hopefully a professional will chime in for you as well to give you an opinion. Thanks for the comments! :xyxthumbs

Thanks for all the comments :dance this was only my second time using the porter cable and I love it! The ex with carnuba definately makes the paint look pretty good, but do you think if I do order Natty's I will see a difference? or will I only see a difference in durablitiy. And also, my GTP is stock...This winter I either want to save up for this package or just the GTX Ram Air Hood.

ScubaStevo don't tempt me hahaha I would love to go for the performance but lack of $$ and I feel the GTP is already pretty quick, Ive beaten V8's and rubbed it in their faces haha, but the Cold Air Induction has always been in my mind. but hey if you lend me the money I'll do the performance upgrade for you :LOLOL

Trying to decide :work: ....babes vs. speeding tickets....or both :idea

You can build a intake for 10 bucks.

Pulley anouther $60

U-bend delete- $50.

There ya go. Say for 200, you could have a mid to low 14 second car. :ca

When I go with the 3.4 pulley do you reccomend getting the 180* Thermostat as well? If you could, can you breifly describe what the U-bend delete does? Thanks ScubaStevo - It's not that I dont have money for performance mods, but that money is for detailing supplies :grinno: maybe if I make my car so slick and smooth I'll glide through the air haha Performance Package

If you go with the 3.4, what I'd really recommend doing is ordering the following:

-Intake

-Have a 3" downpipe made up, cat, u-bend removed.

-One stage colder plugs

-180* thermo for summer, stock range for the winter (you will notice a mileage decrease)

-Gatorback Supercharger Belt, or simliar

*Optional*:

-DHP V.1 (Just had it done today on a buddies car, WHOA is all I can say. :) )

-Ported exhaust manifolds

This will be relatively quick then. Probably a second and a half off your stock 1/4 mile times.
