99 Corvette Detail

This is my first Click & Brag so be gentle... the Vette's clear coat already beat me up enough lol The SSR 2.5 finished down nicely. I'm not sure the SSR 1 did much since the clear is so freakishly hard. Next time I'm going to have to try Manzerna polishes since I hear so much good about them. There's still some really deep water spots on the trunk that I couldn't get out. Anyway, here we go! :waxing:



Wash with Meguires GC car wash using a foam gun and clay with Zaino Z-18 (carwash as lube)

Polish with PB SSR 2.5 with an orange light cutting pad via PC

Polish with PB SSR 1 with a white polishing pad via PC

Zaino Z-6 wipedown

Z-2 Pro(w/zfx) followed by Z-6

Z-2 Pro(w/zfx) followed by Z-8

Z-2 Pro(w/zfx) followed by Z-8

Then I topped it all off with another Z-8 wipedown

The wheels were polished using a Mothers Powerball Mini with PB SSR 1

The wheels also got 2 layers of zfx'd Z-2 Pro

The tires were topped with Armorall Extreme Tire Gel using a foam applicator

The paint is incredibly smooth now. Those Z-8 wipedowns really made the metal flake pop. By the way, the color is Navy Blue Metallic. :2thumbs:

How did you like the PB? Did it dust much on you?

The PB is pretty good. Sadly, I don't have any other polish to compare it to. Yes, it did dust quite a bit though. I've heard Menzera works much better on Vettes. I started out using SSR 2.5 on a white polishing pad but the clearcoat just laughed at me. Stepping up to the orange pad worked so much better.



I'm glad you liked that last pic lol I've seen so many other people doing cod piece shots that I just HAD to include one :getdown

Ya, you don't see too many with the mags. I forgot to put up this pic:

It's a shame they're so delicate. All 4 are in excellent shape and have never been curbed. One of them is starting to get small bubbles under the paint(which you can't see in the pic), which I hear is caused by extreme heat if you track the car... which I've done once.
