Our 99 740il w/ 148k miles.

She has not been washed in 6-8 weeks and I finally had a free afternoon yesterday to do something with the paint.

I had the last 2 weeks off to baby sit work being done on my garage. Had detailing gear packed away in a trailer. Prior to that was booked for the past 12 out of 13 weeks. I'm now booked thru the end of June with 2 cars a week. Plus still working my FT job. :rocking:

The zaino should get me thru the end of summer.

Process:

Washed with Dawn.

Tires and wheels cleaned.

Clay

Quick ZAIO white pad GG polisher speed 5.

1x of Z2pro

Z8

Z-16 on tires.

I have some new roundels for the wheels somewhere, misplaced during the garage work.

Best I can recall, its going on 3 years since I've done a major correction to this paint. Either ZAIO or ZPC. I would not call the paint perfect, but proper washing does pay off.

Maybe one day I'll do a full write up on the garage, but here are some before and after pics. Sorry it was still a little dusty in the after pics.

The house is 20 years old and of course the garage has taken a beating:

The floor was done with 100% solids epoxy and blue stone quartz sand.

Ceiling had the "popcorn" effect removed and walls where painted.

Air hose reel is now mounted in the attic near the existing compressor.

Will do some cabinets and more lighting in the future.

Well. Kudos on the BMW, and a big fat, "Slurp!" on the garage.

I just love that generation of 7-series...especially in that color - and yours looks absolutely fantastic. I guess it'd be a crime otherwise...and with the expectations you create, we could easily forget the hard work and good habits and just say, "Ho-hum...another one Bryan hits out of the park. Next." :D

Jerry, Thanks for your kind words! Hope to find all is well.

The Denali is getting the same treatment as we speak.

Wow... that garage is AWESOME! Just add a little more lighting and it will be perfect.

As for the car, your 1999 looks better than most 2009s out there

Thanks Berry! I really want to come out to Cali and learn how to wetsand from the master, but working FT job on the w/e can suck at times. Can you stir up another Bentley so I cans hack that up in PA? :)

Not sure which one looks cleaner....your 7 Series or your fabbed up garage? Bret's jungle gym looks like lots of fun.

Thanks David! Sometimes Bret likes to swing around the garage and polish paint at the same time, he is that good.

Thanks for the photos. I have just bought a 1998 Calypso Red 740iL that has been reasonable taken care of but the paint needs some serious work. Your photos will be excellent inspiration. Calypso Red is my favorite color and has been for many years since I had a 1990 325ic in Calypso.
