'99 30th Anniversary WS6 Trans Am detail

1 Clean WS6

Detailing Rottweiler
Hello all!!

My good clients (and friends) at RP Motorsport, www.rpmotorsport.com ,gave me a call to come clean a recent project of their's. The car is a '99 30th Anniversary edition Trans Am (car #318) in which they put a heads/cam/intake and exhaust package on. When the dust from the dyno settled their combo on this car was putting 435 ponies to the ground!! :xyxthumbs

I'm not sure of the exact number of Anniversary cars that were built (I believe it was just over a 1,000 or so) but all were white with white leather interiors, blue stripes and blue anodized 17" 5-spoke wheels. This particular car was fitted with 19" blue anodized HRE rims. :D Sweetness IMHO!! It only had about 14K on the odo and judging by the condition was obviously a show pony. It was well kept with only a minimal amount of swirling. After washing the TA I ran my hand over the paint to feel if it needed to be clayed and it sure did!! I doubt it had ever been clayed in its life. It always amazes me how you can wash a car and have it look clean yet STILL have such dirty paint.

The detail:

Wash with Meg's Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Wolfgang's clay bar using Meg's #34 as a lube.

Polish with Poorboy's PwC using a Meg's 8006 pad with my PC set at 5.

Seal with Poorboy's EX-P using a Meg's 9006 pad with my PC set at 4.

Meg's NXT on the rim centers (Eagle One Never Dull on the outer lips) Meg's Hot Shine on the tires, Vanilla Moose on the exterior glass

Enjoy,

Mike

Since the bright sun was washing out the color I pulled the car into the shade for some reflection shots...

I snuck a few shots of some cars at RP after I was done...

Here's a brand new in the wrapper C6 Z51 Vette waiting to get some HP injection...

I am at a lost for words with this..... All I know is that it is supercharged, NOS'd and sounds like the rumble of the 4 horsemen of the apocolypse at idle.

Man that looks sweet! Nice work Mike.

I like those rims a lot...finally some1 does something different :D

Do they do the work on your WS6?

edit: That black one is drop dead  ...I like the red around the 1 spoke, brakes, shiny paint...damn, the whole thing is sick...Did you detail that one?

Beautifulllllllllllllllll.. Boy be nice to have some HRE's, but I cant fork out 5 grand to get them!!

Awesome detail.

That is THE best anniversary TA I have seen...what a stellar detail to top it off.

Those wheels are amazing. Makes me wonder if Fikse might do the same.

Sean my long time friend (20+ years) Bill Lawler of Prescribed Power www.prescribedpower.com turned the wrenches on my WS6. The guys at RP ported and polished my cylinder heads and I also have one of their custom built torque arms intsalled. Its tough being friends with so many good mechanics!!

Unfortunately I didn't get to clean the black Vette. Maybe when they're done working on it I'll get a chance.

Lee that clay was NASTY!!

damn i usually have american cars... but that trans am is drippin in beauty!!! i dont know maybe its cause their clean.. cause your car and that car always look sick:D

those hre wheels are gorgeous!!! i love hre.. theyre the best in my opinion:up

THANK YOU all for the kind words!! :D

Pat the wheels are actually anodized not powdercoated and as far as I know they came directly from HRE that way. My understanding is that if you have a big enough check HRE will pretty much make any wheel for any car in any style you see fit!!

anodized blue rims are SOOOOOO Nice!!! I wish your photo of that black vette was centered better, It'd be my deesktop if it was. Sickest Vette I've ever seen!!!
