96 Burgandy Saturn Finaly gets its first Detail (56K good luck)

MDetail

The DETAILS count. ;)
So my friend bought his first new car, and wants to get rid of the old one. Now from what he says, he always kept the interior clean, but his older brother started using the car when he bought the new one. So now the interior was bad, and the exterior wasn't looking too great either. But we have plenty of products to fix that, so we decided to see what could be done with this ol dirty *******.

Plan of Attack

Interior Vac

Fully treat mats w/Power Out

Spot Treat Carpet (same)

Clean Leather w/APC

Condition w/Megs Cleaner / Conditioner

Degrease wheels w/ Lightning

Wash car w/ Crystal Wash

Clay

Wash Again

Wet San flaking Clear Coat

Wash Again

Heavy Cutting Pad / M83 (Deep scratches / wetsand areas only)

Med Cutting Pad / M2

Light Polishing Pad / PB PwC

Finishing Pad / PB EX

Took us About 11 hours total (Alot of the time one of us was waiting around, since I only have one PC) I think it came out great, for my 2nd Detail :)

PS: VERY SORRY ABOUT THE CRAPPY PHOTOS. I was shooting my friends concert last night, and accidentally left the ISO on 1600

Car comes in looking clean as can be :)

Wait a minute--you sanded off the failing clear? Isn't that going to be back to looking worse than it did before as soon as the oils from the polish dry? I've never been able to improve the appearance of failed clear like that except with a heavy paste wax, which lasts for about a day.

So we stopped screwing around and finally got to work

At this point Pass. headlight was done, and Pass side hood was done with M83 (not really noticeable in pic)

we got it looking pretty good in the end. I will take close ups when he comes back. We were trying to get it looking as good as possible, he is trying to sell the car.

looks good. you might want to try to shoot some clear on that spoiler just to make sure it keeps. there's a rattle can clear called lustrecote that's supposed to be pretty decent for touchups. i think it's model airplane paint but i've seen some folks clear their track bikes with it and it's pretty nice looking.
