'92 Black NSX Full Menzerna Detail Pics

My friend just picked up a sweet NSX, black on black. We spent all day Sat. detailing it using the full Menzerna line that I like. Wash, clay, wash, intensive polish, final polish, glaze, FMJ, topped with Trade Secret. I only own silver cars, so after all that I must say I was a bit envious of the depth you get with a black car.

Wow! That is a sweet looking job.

It looks like the previous owner took pretty good care of it.

What machine did you use?

p.s. - I'll take your silver ferrari over the NSX any day of the week

You mentioned glaze. Was it also from the Menzerna line? I take it that it was since you said that you used the full Menzerna line.
 
Great Job!!! -- The second pic --- It looks like there is a handle on the hood...I had to look twice---it's actually the reflection of the garage door handle...
 
NICE!!! Looks Great. Super Deep look. I envy the farrari personally though. How much did that drop ya.. if you dont mind my asking?

mgm2003: The machine is used was a Porter Cable. The previous owner took pretty good care of it, it was in a climate controlled garage etc, and super low miles. But there were swirls a plenty on the car.

CARGUY: Yes the glaze is the Menzerna glaze. I actually find that the glaze is the hardest one to buff off the car.

WuNgUn: Basically I used a Porter Cable and Lake Country pads. Orange pad with the Menzerna Intensive Polish. White pad with the Menzerna Final Polish. Then applied Menzerna Glaze & then Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket wax. And we topped that with Trade Secret carnuba wax which works beautifully over dark colors, giving an even deeper, wetter shine. Of course we washed and clayed before any polishing & stuff.
 
Now you really got my attention!
I also use IP and FPII on mine with the LC pads.
I have been toying with the idea of trying FMJ on mine for a while. What was the look before you topped the FMJ? Was it too reflective like Z5 can be?
My WG/Souveran combo has worked great, but I am itching to try something new!

pt91: Haha yeah, my friend has been on NSXprime the moment he considered buying a NSX. The look before we topped with the FMJ is not too reflective at all. It had a great shine and depth, but that's just after glaze, so we had to seal it with FMJ. I love FMJ, it is by far the slickest and easiest to use wax I've ever used, and I've tried tons. I have tried Z5, but not on a black car, but once again, never felt there was too much reflectivity with Z5 or any wax I've used. I can see a difference between Trade Secret and Natty's reflectivity wise though. Trade Secret gives more depth, darkening paint ever so little, Natty's gives shimmer and reflectivity more, and not as much depth. So I use Natty's on my silver cars, and I gave my friend with the black NSX the Trade Secret. We'll probably be working on his car again this weekend, I'll try and get some interior pics then.
 
Thanks for the answer on the glaze. So far, I've only ordered the FP II (haven't had a chance to try it yet) but after looking at your pics I'm considering an order for their glaze too. I can feel your pain...you sure put a heck of a lot of effort into that car...nice results.

So, would you recommend Trade Secret carnuba over top of the sealer for SVT blue? It is metalic (either purple flake, or purple candy top-coat...I can't tell...lol), so shineness isn't really a problem, but it's basically the bluest blue you've ever seen! Depth and reflectivity is what I'm shooting for...
