'91 Toyota Soarer

Mad iX

No detail for you!!!
15 year old Toyota Soarer. Parked outside on the street, washed only at DIY car washes. Brush swirls were obvious. I gave him some advice but not much he can do as he can't wash at home.

Also plenty of etched watermarks, bird bomb etchings and even clearcoat failure.

What we did:

Wash and rinsed

Clay (goodbye to an entire clay bar)

I advised the owner that I would have to polish quite aggressively to remove all the scratches and swirls but with the cc failure it wasn't necessarily a good idea. He said to go ahead anyway, if he needs to re-paint then he might as well find out sooner rather than later. So ...

Mothers FX spray wax on wheels

4* UPPS on exterior glass

Looks like sanding marks on the bootlid and lack of gloss:

Immediately after polishing steps, flake is popping now:

Another before, oxidised paint and headlights:

After polishing steps, SSR2.5 w/ 4" foam pad on drill attachment for the headlights, paint depth and clarity is much better:

All done. #21 for protection and OCW for added depth and wetness:

Was the first time I'd used the Edge pads. I still think they're costly (here in Aus) but it was worth it. Being perfectly centered everytime, controlling the rotary was like a dream.

WOW! the whole car looks so much better after, it looked horrible before! Can you explain to me how you polished the headlights? did you use the pc or the rotary? and did you sand anything at all? Again, great job!

Headlights - 3" foam pads on a drill with SSR2.5. Here's a pic of the owner tackling one of his foglights. I did the right side and he did the left. You can tell by the splatter, heh. Only takes a minute to polish the headlights this way.
