9 year old 3 series

This car also belongs to someone I work with. It has had some paint work done to it, and the BIG challenge on this one was all the chips in the hood. The owner had asked me what to do, so I suggested that he fill them in with touch up paint so they could harden before I got my hands on it. Well, when it showed up, the hood had SO MANY spots from the touch up, it reminded me of a 13 year old boy in DIRE need of some benzoyl peroxide!! Zit city, baby! You can see the pic with the terry towel on the hood-look at all the paint on it from the Langka! Otherwise, it was ok for its age. It gets stored in the winter, so it's pretty nice, although it did need correction. I used a wool pad for this one too. I used a combination of wet sanding and Langka for the touch up levelling. There is a learning curve to the Langka, and I was getting pretty good at it after a while. You gotta play with the pressure you use, though. This car, like the Infi G35, got DG 501 with a foam (gray in this case) pad after using the compound. I used my new X3 polish with wool, followed by it using foam (white). I like this stuff. The car also had recently been oil sprayed which was all over the paint too. To solve that, I foamed 1st and then applied the wash soap directly to the wash mitt for each panel...viola. The PDR guy came by on this one too. The headlights also got SIP with foam, DG plastic lens cleaner with foam too.

Nice work again! Man for a nine year old car that interior has held up nicely. I mean my seats in my Murano have not held together that nicely...I guess that says something for BMW.

Thanks very much..I tried to respond yesterday and kept getting booted out?? He stores this car for the winter, so I'm sure that helps.
