88 Ford Ranger with oxidation all over

Ok, so today I did a polish and wax application for a new customer to his Honda Accord. He was so happy with our work he wanted us to look at his old truck. He has a red 88 Ford Ranger. All of the paint aside from the passenger side of the bed does not have any clear coat. Apparantly he had the back right clear coated when they touched up an area. The rest of the truck has horrible oxidation, but it is in great condition aside from that. I guess this truck has sentimental value, because he talked about painting it down the road. Any suggestions? Personally I havent had to handle a car with paint this faded and having the dry look it offers. I am half tempted to say that he should get apaintjob now, but I want to see what you guys have to offer.

Thanks :woot2:

Meguiars #83 followed by #80. Works amazingly well on single stage paints.

what are you using to apply these? orbital, rotary? types of pads as well? thanks scott

I own a single stage van and really it should clean up pretty easy, although it will take alot of work. I would go with Scotts advice.
