'87 Sea Ray 21' Ski Boat - Medium Oxidation and stains

Folks,

Today I started work on the family ski boat. It's been washed and waxed, but has some medium oxidation from the years.

Had a Lake Country Green Pad, and some M105, on my PC7424 on speed 6. Definitely got some results, but it was taking a *very* long time, and the results aren't quite as good as I'd hoped. Definitely got a lot of shine back, but cutting through the oxidation is taking forever.

What pad/compound recommendations do you have? Would really like to bring back the shine on this boat, the rest of it is in excellent condition...

Thanks

Rotary and wool with a marine specific polish/compound. Follow that up with a polish pad.

Boats can handle a good heavy polish...with a PC your going to be there forever and still get results that are less than great.

I use wool pads from AutoMagic for boats...not sure that it makes much difference. That compound will do the trick, but you will need to follow it with a less aggressive polish.

I also recommend getting some small pads (3 inch or so) for getting into the tight spots. I love doing boats but I hate polishing around the ladder, motor, etc.

Thanks!!! I intend on following up with Meg's 205 since I have that in stock already... And I'll get a couple of smaller pads as well. Thanks again!

I'll try to snap a few pics. Hopefully I get to make some progress this weekend.

I have had good luck with Shurhold's Buff Magic and wool pads (LC I think) cleaned up so good I did not need a second polishing step. This was on a 1995 Ski Nautique.

I believe West Marine sells it, I got it at the boat dealer.
