VegasShawn,

Very nice ride dude!! I too love the look on those cars. What's under the the hood, 350???

Very rare car around here! Looks like it's been well cared for too!! Very sharp car!!

Nope. The most powerful engine ever in the Monte Carlo was the L-69 305. Alot of people think the SS came with a 350. 180HP! :D Never happened.

The car is starting to come around now. I still have some interior work to do, but it's getting there a little bit at a time. It was gone 4 months while I waited for it to get painted...

That paint is the same silver it came with from the factory with a little violet pearl added to it. You can't see it in the daylight, but it's more visible at night.

And...it's got 158,000 miles on it!! :D

You know, you could easily slip a nice 383 between the motor mounts and store the stock motor.... ;)

Very nice glow to the paint!

Yeah....that would be nice! I need to pass emissions still....... I'm hoping the motor in it now will last until '07. I can get "classic rod" plates for it then and be exempt from emissions.

As far as the "glow", that's what that pearl does in the sunlight. It kinda diffuses the light. At night, I think it appears to absorb lower levels of light and shows the violet.

And this includes the 454's of yesteryear? I believe that these big blocks were rated at around 360 H.P (circa 70-71).

I think he is talking just about the run of Monte Carlo SS' in the 80's.

I am pretty sure the top dog engine in the early Monte Carlos was the LS-5 454, which would have been 365hp.

Yeah....the earlier cars had the option of the 454. I am only talking about the 4th gen 78-88 cars. (83-88 for SS).. Sorry...
