Here is a write up of a detail I did this past summer while in Nashville TN. This Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII has the Full Race Twin Scroll 4088r turbo kit pushing out 800whp. These Evo's are notorious for the paint fading out due to their single stage paint and the owners not keeping the paint properly protected. This car was fun to detail and even more fun to ride in. Here is the write up, hope you enjoy!
Here is the car when I began
It's a little hard to tell from the white being so bright, but the paint is pretty faded.
I gave the car a thorough foam bath
After the wash, the car was brought inside for the prepping stage, (Clay baring and taping of trim)
You can see in the reflection of the LED light bar that the paint has some pretty bad oxidation.
Before:
After:
Nice amount of Gloss has returned
The Meguiars Microfiber DA cutting disc and D300 were used for the correction.
While working on the car, I noticed the hood vent had some paint missing.
So I removed the hood vent and taped off the trim around the edge and applied a good even coat of Satin Black paint to make it look new again.
Next is the Passenger rear quarter panel. In this pic you can see how bad the oxidation was
and here is a 50/50
And then the outcome
Here is a 50/50 hood when I started
And here is the out come
And Now for the Final Sun Shots
And I know everyone is going to ask for engine shots, so here ya go.
Thanks for viewing, Have a Blessed Day!
