71 Chevelle vs. Poorboys

I started this project with a neighbor last November. We spent several weekends polishing it out.

This past Friday we hit it with:

-S&W (moderate dust from the car cover)

-PwC x 1 (a few light marks from the car cover) via cyclo/polishing pad.

-EX x 1 by hand.

-Natty's Blue Wax x 2 (Very wet looking on red and black)

-Interior = NL

-Wheels/Rims = BnB

-Chrome = PPP

We're getting started on the engine bay.... no photos of that yet.

This bad boy is a blast to drive - it purrs like an angry lion!

Here are a few after shots from this weekend.

I hope everyone enjoys!

You just don't see to many of these around.

Awesome looking Chevelle. I grew up in the muscle car era and although I was a Ford fanatic, the Chevelle SS's were always one of my favorites. Those big block chevy's had a mean grumble with a little cam work done to them. Is that original or a repaint? Either way, you did an excellent job on it.:xyxthumbs

Please! (At great risk of insulting Ford lovers all over the board) Don't insult a fine Chevelle by saying its the Torino from Starsky and Hutch. The Torino was a poor attempt by Ford.

The 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 is almost universally recognized as the peak of muscle cars. Ponys were O.K. but Muscle cars are #1

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Thanks for making me regret selling my '71 Chevelle all over again. :(

Beautiful car and detail! I have to agree about Natty's Blue (Just got mine today). Stunning on black paint! Obviously terrific on red as well. :)

Thanks for all of the kind words. I'll have to share this thread with the owner. He'll get a kick out of it. The car was repainted in the early 90's. The owner said he shelled out 15K for the paint job. It's a rare car for sure. Most of these cars had the dash & door liners torn up with after market radio equipment, but not this one. Aside from engine/exhaust mod's it's pretty much stock from head to toe. The engine is rated at/near 500HP, and it hauls this hunk of tin down to road in a hurry.

Here are a few shots of my wife's Tahoe topped with Natty's Blue on the hood & passenger side (was topped with FK Pink Wax). So far I'm impressed with the improved Natty's, and it works especially well with S&G. Now I'm back on the PwC/EX/Natty's kick! I guess it's good to have a wide variety of products.
