70 degrees + 8 hours = 1 clean 2002 Maxima

Today, I decided to take advantage of a nice 70 degree day in Chicago to clean the Max. Originally, I had planned to just clay and then Souveran. But the project kind of evolved into something more. I wound up taking the following steps to clean the Maxima today:

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class and EF HI

Clay with Clay Magic Kit (Broke clay into 2 pieces. One for the wheels and the other for the body)

1x AIO

Souveran

Treated tires with Eagle One Tire Wet because I am low on Vinylex

1x KSG on the rims after claying them

Vacuumed the interior

AIO in the door jambs and on the plastic for the headlights and the taillights

Polished the Exhaust tips with Nevr Dull

Cleaned the glass with Stoner's and a YoSteve MT

Since I have a regular camera, I am going to take pics of it and then scan them so you can see the results.

wow, excellent shine. Looks like it just came out of the paint booth, except for the wheel wells! :D , lol sorry, I had to :)

70 degrees out! I hate you! It is like 95 here with lots of humidity!

This was 5/4/02. At one point after this was written, we were as hot and humid as New Orleans (90 and up).

The Max looks great PrinzII. I'm really impressed with the depth you've gotten out of that color. Most of the time I see that color it has a nice reflectivity, but not the depth you've acheived.

Maybe I need to put in some overtime and try some Souveran afterall....

I don't regret spending the dough on this wax at all. it's well worth the $$.

Side note:

I demonstrated everything I did on my Max on a neighbor's silver Taurus. Both she and my mother were :shocked after I did a small section of the trunk. My neighbor was amazed at the smoothness and my mother was amazed at the depth of the finish. Then a few days later, I demoed it on her daughter's Kia Sportage and she was also :shocked

The next day when I came to the car, I found a nice little "present" on the hood of my car.

Luckily, I washed it off with the remaining soap water from the previous night's washing.

nice job prinz. how is the souveran with dust?? in my experience with wax is that it will attract dust faster than the synthetics.

i want a 2k2-2k3. ;)

I find that Souveran is not too bad as far as dust is concerned. It doesn't attract dust as bad as some others.
