6 years as an Autopia....I finally get my first car!

Yeah, I've been around since 99 and the funny thing was I never had a car to call my own. Well at the ripe age of 21 I went ahead and purchased a new car. I was originally looking at the Mazda 3 but that did not have any incentives or cash back offers. It was selling at sticker price. The Mazda 3 I wanted was MSRP 16,869 or something. Two hours later I was signing papers for a 2005 Mazda Tribute i I-4 with premium package MSRP of 22,785. I basically paid $19,900.74 or so with taxs, title, and registration fees.

The car has a little under 1000 miles on it now after almost 2 weeks of owning it. IT had 12 on the odo when I purchased it. The color is Titanium Grey or something along those lines, with a dark flint leather trimmed interior.

I basically Z7 washed it, clayed the car with Zaino Z-18, dawn washed it, then two coats of Z2 Pro+ZFX with Z-6 inbetween.

The paint is in great shape. Only two spots of swirling, only I know where they are because you have to view them at angles and under street lights. It must be my car but there is a case of orange peeling in my paint. It isn't that bad. I got a few scratches here and there due to well driving it.

I'll upload more pictures tomorrow.

Jason

Congratulations :xyxthumbs Enjoy your new wheels and the feeling of freedom/independence that comes along those keys. Oh yeah...and the responsibility that comes along every month when the payment comes due :D

And since I obviously missed your homecoming....

Welcome Home :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Nice car, Jason- congrats.

I think you'll like the Mazda clear. Hard enough that it's not too fragile, but not so hard that it's a pain to correct.

What're you doing these days? Still in the Corps, back at school?

Thank you all for the comments!

Mr. Clean noi payments are needed :) Paid for it already.

SLD - I'll get some interior pics soon. I haven't gone at the interior yet since my shop vac is between things right now. Give me till Monday and I'll have the interior done up (also took the liberty to drop $220 or so onto interior weathertech mats and a cargo liner.)

Accumulator - The clear looks really nice! It also felt a bit hard. I like it. In terms of working, I am still technically on active duty and once I get de-activiated hopefully I go to college. Also on a side note, I am trying creatine for the first time. SAN V-12 turbo is the name I think..will keep you updates.

More pictures tomorrow! I promise.

Well that deserves :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :D

Leaves more money for flashlights ;)

Also, good move on the Weathertech mats/liner. We've been through a set of the mats, but I still have the liner. Those will really save your carpets.

Heh heh, you're reading my mind again, Mr. Clean ;) Three times in one post! So, "Yeah, Jason, ditto from me".

Two more pictures.

Here is a picture of the front driver side fender showing some orange peel.

This next picture is of the driver side rear quarter panel. I took it to show off the metal flake in the paint. There is a large amount of it. Really glows at dusk.

87maxxima - Thanks, I love the color too!

Mr. Clean - After insurance and other fun toys I am pretty much almost broke. I do have income though. I am about finishing up my flashlight stuff. I got almost everything I need already in terms of flashlights, (Surefire M6, down to a Arc AAA, and a few lights in between.)

I love the mats, they trapped so much dirt already. They sit on top of the carpet mats which sit on top of the carpet LOL.

Accumulator - This car kicks ***! Doesn't quite handle like a sports car though, LOL. HAd to slow down on some turns.

Hey Jason, you may have been showing off the metalflake in that one picture, but what caught my eye was the wheelwell. Over a 1000 miles and it still looks better than new!:up
