Meguiars pads have a centering hole (7006, 8006, 9006). The hole is in the velcro only, not the actual pad itself (think of a donut shaped velcro backing that's glued to the pad). Was that what you're referring to?
I personally prefer the LC pads more because the velcro backing covers the complete back of the pad whereas the Meg's pads don't have enough of the velcro backing. What ends up happening with the Megs pad is that the Meg's backing plate (which isn't as flexible as the LC backing plate) ends up cutting into the actual foam pad itself, and that is what has destroyed some of my pads.
The quality of the Megs pads also vary. I bought some older, more used, Megs pads from a member on here and his were slightly different and of higher quality. The Megs pads I had received with my PC order from ADS started to "warp" and some became out of shape (more of an oblong shape than circular).
So that was the end of me purchasing Megs pads and when it came time to buy a bp for my rotary, I did not want the same style Meg's bp that I have on my PC. I'd rather deal with the small issue of centering pads properly with the LC pads, than have my pads get chewed up by my backing plate and eventually lose its shape.
