Wow, after three or four passes with a PC, it does wipe out the old hands. My left is used to guide and put pressure on, so it absorbs most of the vibration.

If I had the camera I show the results, but my wife is traveling and it's with her. Course, that's also how I could spend most of Sunday doing the car too...

Who says detailing isn't a sport, any rumors about detailing in this summers Olympics? :-)

It was nice in GA today, a bit hot but a good day to spend in the driveway and garage, hope ya'll had some fun too.

So far I'ver determined 3 beers really helps the hands feel better. In case you were wondering.

I spent 3 hours with a PC today. My hands are okay, but I usually tape up my wrists before doing a lot of machine polishing. The tape helps stabilize my wrists so I don't wind up aggravating old carpal tunnel problems.

Good idea... gotta do another car Friday, maybe I just don't use the PC often enough. Maybe I'll get a little tougher too.

Taping the wrists is a good idea . What type of tape do use ? How much do wrap them ?

I just use a some type of medical or sports tape (whatever happens to be handy). I wrap it around twice in about a 2.5" wide pattern. I wrap it just tightly enough to provide support, but not so tight that it compresses your skin. You don't want to cut off any circulation.

i remember the second time i used the PC, i think i went for 5 hours. i was sooooooooooo tired, i slept without a pillow. all i did was collpase on my bed. howver, the next day, my hands were not sore. it was my back that was aching for some reason. and its NOT age.......

Hey Nice Gloves,

I use a M/F towel around the body, and a clean new applicator sponge under my "pressure applying" hand!

Works great, and I have two extra "tools" right at hand if I need them!

Steve, those gloves look great! Unfortunately, I have a terrible time trying to find gloves small enough to fit my hands. Do they sell junior's/women's sized mechanic's gloves? :dunno
Medium is the smallest, that's what I got. My hands are almost the same size as my wife (not sure if that's bad for me or for her;), no jokes please:D) and the medium fit good, you may want to give them a try, if they don't fit send them back.

They do make a pretty good difference on the PC.

Steve - I found the website for the Ringers Glove manufacturer. They make small and extra-small sizes, but they're priced at full retail ($37.98 including shipping). I Googled and Froogled and only found one other place that carried the smaller sizes in the half fingered style. That site was only about a dollar cheaper than the manufacturer. Mechanix also makes impact absorbing gloves, but they don't seem to offer the half fingered styles in smaller sizes. Since I usually wear a ladies small glove size, a men's medium is likely to be way too big for me. I'll have to think about springing for the full priced Ringers version.

Scottabi - Thanks for the link. I looked through their catalog and could only find one style of half fingered gloves in smaller sizes (though they did have full fingered styles in small). That model was designed as a "box handling" glove, so it's probably not the best match for use with a PC. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I use this gloves and my hands have never felt sore and the end of a PC spree. They work for me!
