550HP Black Jeep SRT8

The owner of this black beast and I have been talking for a while. He lives in MS and was finally able to come up to the Atlanta area to visit a friend.

The black paint was suffering from hacks washing it with brushes. Even though the owner had left instructions with the dealer NEVER to wash the vehicle when it was in for service. Like some dealers think they know everything, they are best at screwing up the finish. :grrr

The owner had a few mods done under the hood. I don't know all the details, but a supercharger is one of the mods, which from what I understand take the stock SRT8 big Hemi motor from 450hp to 550hp. Yes I got a ride on the interstate and boy does this beast pull. :woohoo:

A few pics that the owner sent to me:

Wheels got ZAIO

Tires got 2x of Z-16

Very nice. I love these. In stock form they do 0-60 in 4.5 secs. Seems like a bargain at $40K (no more than regular GC Overland).

Thanks for Bryan for such an awesome job. I truly enjoyed watching your watch and even learning. Can't wait to get all my stuff in and do my mom's car. Thanks again!

Thing is a beast. The people who had their hands on it before you are beasts. Very nice correction.

Was that an Air/Water intercooler?

Nice work Bryan.. I really like the looks of those.

The exhaust tone is quite nice as well.. I roll my windows down when one is near just to hear the tone.

I also like the dual exhaust coming out the center of the rear instead of one on each side.

Black is my favorite color to detail...you did it justice!

nice work on a great vehicle.

I have the little brother of the srt-8, the srt-4 and love it. Dodge did a great job with there line up of srt models.

too bad they didn't make them all RWD. as for how they sound? first time i heard one drive by without looking i thought it was a chevy small block v8

That thing is sick. Holy cow that paint looks wet. Those pics of the hood look so good they don't even look real. Nice job. I bet he's really happy with the turnaround. That procharger (I think thats what it is) looks narly. I bet that thing has some major torque under the hood.

tell me about, traction sucks, rwd or awd would rock. I spin until the top of 3rd on low boost. I love the sound, i have never heard another 4cyl sound as deep as a srt. I have a full 3" exhaust so mine sounds like the chevy small block you are referring to.

Money , tits and Hp are never enough but 550 Hp sure are nice round figure . Great detail job . I´l be the owner was really happy you worked on the BEAST .

Well it has a Vortec Supercharger and yes that is an air to water intercooler. It's pushing right at 550hp and 550tq. I absolutely love the job he did on it. I am so ANAL about my cars and when I saw what the dealership did, I went APESH*T!!! I cussed them up and down.

Anyway, it's an awesome and fun vehicle. Easily my daily driver and is completely subtle until you put you foot in. Here's a quick video of the exhaust.

And yes, it did really SUCK driving it back. Thing is dirty again, considering I live in a neighborhood with a lot of construction. I ordered about $400 worth or detailing stuff including random orbital buffer, pads, microfiber towels, waffle weave driving towels, P21S wheel cleaner, foam gun, etc.! So, when it all comes in next week, it's my turn to try some new stuff!!! :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce
