This one is a third owner, numbers matching truck. It's a 6cyl truck with a manual trans so there's nothing special about it from a "hot rod" perspective....other than what "could be". He has had the truck for over thirty years and is looking to get rid of it. Paint is original color but not original paint. I think it was repainted back in the 70's and has pretty much sat in a garage for the latter part of it's life.
I did the engine on this truck as well but the picture Gods were against me. There was a shadow cast across the "befores" and I completely forgot to take "Afters". I had the truck for four days while the owner was on vacation so I was probably just wanting it gone and not thinking straight....oh well.
There was some wetsanding that needed to be done on some spots. Nothing huge but just some deeper RIDS that wouldn't go away with just polishing.
The interior was different for me on this one. Typically there is cloth and plastic and stuff that requires just a wipedown. Everything on the interior is painted on this old truck. So I ended up doing a little polishing on the inside along with everything else that happened.
Process:
Wash /wDawn
Dry w/leafblower
Clay w/DP Clay
Wipe down w/IPA
Engine:
Carb and Alternator covered
Degreased w/Megs Super DG
Brushed w/various brushes
Hosed down and dried w/leaf blower
Interior:
Paint polished w/SIP on 4" Edge pad
Gas tank degreased and wiped down
Door jams degreased and blown dry with air compressor
Paint:
Trouble spots were wet sanded
Polished w/105 on orange CCS
106ff on white CCS
Jeweled with CG Creme Glaze on white CCS
Topped w/DPS
