I just got finished detailing this gem of a ride for a local restaurant owner. This was one of his fun cars to play around with on weekends. He used to do the upkeep himself but with a back injury he has not been able too. In his words this car was neglected because it had some oxidation on the roof and hadnt been waxed for about half a year, otherwise it sits either outside under a car cover, in the restaurant parking lot, or in his garage. Id consider this car just routinely upkept, but nothing fancy, definitely not neglected. Anywho, this is the car prior to cleaning:

Im not sure how bad the car looks in the pictures, but i definitely wouldnt say neglected.

I washed it with meguiars #62 wash, cleaned the wells and tires with Megs APC, and cleaned the wheels with #36 (great to wash with BBS approved wheel cleaner on BBS wheels :P.) I then taped her up, went over the body twice with #83 on my g100 (it still had some RIDS, something the G100 couldnt touch.) I then topped the car with #7 and then followed that up with 2 coats of s100 on both wheels and body. Windows cleaned with Stoner, wiped the dash with Megs Quik Interior, wiped the seats with Lexol cleaner then conditioned with Megs leather cleaner/conditioner spray. Sprayed the wells with Megs HD 10:1 and did the tires with that also. Also dressed the under moldings with HD.

After the final waxing in the garage:

Great job on the FD dude, looks awesome. Looks like you extracted the carpet?

Oh ya, forgot about that. I did extract the matts, but the carpet was clean (no stains) so it was just a vacuum there.

:D LOL about work ad... good work will eventually get recognized, and who knows... you may get referrals by him... :2thumbs:

Nice job! Is the hood carbon fiber painted over? My black 7 has a carbon fiber hood and im thinking about painting it black.

how old are you?

I am 18. I turn 19 in November. (I get id-ed everywhere i go also). Many people think im like 13-14, so they freak out when they see me driving.

Yes the hood was painted CF. The only thing the owner complained about though was the scoops on the hood. Over time, you could see where the scoops were laminated to the cf so it needs to be repainted with some filler primer and paint to make it even again.

That is really terrific work! I appreciate the detailed write-up - I've got a very similar car on the books for later this month and now I have a benchmark. :)

why must everyone bastardize a beautiful car with an outrageous wing...my eyes ! my eyes! :scared:

i read the title, and thought: What are the chances of this being an untouched, non-molested RX.

i love those cars - and wish i had one.

good job young grasshopper, the owner must have been happy !

#83 and #7 were good choices for RED !
