I finally had a chance to polish out the rest of my car from body work I had back in September. Original thread here: http://www.autopia.org/forum/pro-details-before-after/125186-450hp-2004-vw-r32.html which lists the mods as well.
Since I took the car out of the garage for the warm weather my rear bumper has been getting strange spots. Here is the thread and a picture of the spots that I think a few autopians have put me on the right track to eliminating them. Thread: http://www.autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/130899-what-my-paint.html
Example of the spots:
Anyways, last year I polished the car out except for the freshly painted parts which included the front bumper, passenger side mirror, door, fender and sideskirt. I had to take the car back to the body shop once because they never wetsanded the paint and the orange peel was horrible (it still isn't great), they never painted my mirror (but they charged me for it) and they had color overspray on the rubber window channel. They fixed these and left me with paint that looked like this:
Lovely! Sanding tracers, pig tails, buffer trails, clear coat defects, you name it! This was from a body shop that I was recommended to by many people. They are supposed to be one of the best in this area. Either I got screwed or the other body shops are really bad in this area because I was not very happy and I even spoke with the shop owner while getting an estimate about my concerns so he knew I was not the average customer before he gave me a quote.
I've been suffering but haven't had a chance to polish it out for a few months. I have been driving the car and enjoying it though!
Process:
ONR wash the panels to be polished
Clay magic blue for heavy overspray on the door jamb
Mothers Gold clay on the repainted panels and rear bumper
FK425 for clay lube and to clean up clay residue
Megs 105/PFW via rotary @ 1400-1900rpms
Menzerna 85RD/White LC CCS via rotary @1100-1400rpms
ONR wash entire car to remove dust/oils
FK Pink Wax
Tires have a very light coat of Ardex New Concept
I still want to wetsand the panels to get them better but for now the car looks much better.

Thanks for looking. I'm still learning with my camera so I apologize for the less than stellar photos.
Here are some short video clips nothing special but they have decent sound.
