3rd time's a charm

Well, this was the 3rd weekend in a row that I've detailed the exterior of my car. I think I'm finally happy with the outcome. Here is the process for today:

1. Wash with DG wash

2. Wheels cleaned with 1Z wheel cleaner and then applied a coat of AW while drying.

2. PinkMoose via PC with blue, green, and white ploishing pads (couldn't make up my mind)

3. Natty's Blue (awesome stuff, first time using it)

4. Tires and trim dressed with Zaino (forget the # off hand)

The car was clayed and polished via PC the first weekend with Blackfire SRC/green pad. i went over some areas with OP/white and green pad to get things to my liking.

Anywho, here's a few pics:

I also want to say "thank you" to the people that helped me out in my other thread regarding doing this detail:up

Looks great! How do you like the new GTI?

His is a Rabbit, with the 2.5 5 cylinder. Also a nice car, but not quite the car the 2.0T is. ;) I owned a 06 candy white GTI 6spd, it was an amazing upgrade from my 06 RSX S even. The torque even stock was nice. I had mine chipped to 230ish hp/280ish torque, and *that* was how it shoud've been from the factory. If you're considering one, def test drive one. Also, skip all the fancy add ons, mine was a base that stickered at only $22.5K and I paid invoice, only slightly over $21K.

To the OP: The car looks great. You might try CK's CMW for a easy to apply LSP next time. It should last longer than the NB as well.

Thanks for the positive feedback! Nimble knows his VW's.....unforunately my pockets couldn't afford the GTi so the Rabbit it was.

I had my 1000w lights on the car today in the garage and I could still see a few spots that I didn't like but I'm tired of screwing with it for now. I have a couple of VW friends who want their cars detailed in the near future so i'll try to take some pics of theirs.

Just a quick off topic question, how much different is the OHC from the OP? Also, is it possible to mix the two together for a medium duty polish/compound?

Thanks!

the new ohc is very different. Use even less. No need to mix the 2 on vw paint. It will still come out ready for wax. m2c

So you're saying the new OHC will finish down good enough for the LSP? I think I need to research exactly what the diferences are between the op and ohc if that's the case.

What pad would you suggest via PC, orange possibly? I'm just thinking that if I had a car that needed more cut than op, I could possibly go straight to the LSP for the car....depending on how the finish looked of course.

I won't post anymore on this topic, I'll do some searches on it....thanks a million for your help!

The Rabbit looks awesome.

I think you should be happy now! Don't worry about the few random marks. It happens. Besides, you will just got some more minor marring over time. I might have to pick up some Natty's Blue for my girlfriends Rabbit.
