3M with PC

I have been using SSR2.5 for most of my swirl removal and am not sure if I am happy with it (there amy be some user error here) and I would like to give some others a try. I was considering Medernza for a substitute or the 3M products. Since 3M is meant for a rotary, would it work well with a PC? Will it take longet to break down?

How is Mederna in comaprison to SSR2.5? Especially on dark paint

Lots of different (but similarly named ;) ) 3M products.

I've used PI-II FCRC (39002 in the 16 oz bottle), PI-III RC 05933, and PI-III MG 05937 by hand/PC/Cyclo with good results.

I think I can pick that one up at a local automotive paint shop. WHen you used that, do you set the PC at 6? and is it very abrasive?

Not sure which one you're referring to.

The PI-II FCRC (39002) is the most abrasive, a little more so than the PI-III RC 05933. I prefer the 05933. They're not nearly as abrasive as the "rubbing compound" name might suggest, but you do have to break them down all the way.

The PI-III MG 05937 is very mild but still abrasive enough to do some light correction. It's possibly my favorite over-all polish.

I do at least 95% of my PC polishing with these products at speed 6.

PI-III RC 05933: This is my one of my favorite final polishes for everything from dark metallics to bright solids. Finishes down great.

Use with PC on speed 6 w/orange and white pads (LC).

I use 3M #39002 with orange LC pads with good success.

Have been thinking od trying #83 lately, to get smoe slight chemical cleaning going while I'm at it (they're about the same cutting ability).
