QEW wash last week

Z6 wipedown before polishing

Temperature was 50-55°f in the garage (heater assist) and appox 35% humidity.

Spot polish a few areas:

3M extra cut with purple foam wool/metabo 1500

SIP/white CCS/Metabo 1500

Entire car polished with 3M Ultra Fina/blue 3M 8" finishing pad/metabo 1500.

Lusso Revitalizing Creme via Black CCS pad/Metabo 1100

2x of Lusso Oro wax applied by hand with red CCS applicator.

Notes on products:

3M extra cut with purple foam wool-This will leave some hazing for sure on this BMW paint. But it cut fast thru the 2000 sanding marks. Seems to me that the purple foamed wool gets the paint warmer then other wool pads that I have used. (entire line of edge wool pads)

3M Ultra Fina/blue 3M 8" finishing pad-Just pure heaven for a finishing polish/pad combo. Of course a 6" version of this pad would be better yet, but as you know 3M does not sell them here in the US, just in the UK. The car had some slight marring and it cleaned it up very nice. Nice long working time and minimal dusting. Removal via MF is very easy.

Lusso Revitalizing Creme via black CCS pad- Spread very nice by machine, minimal amount needed for each panel. (2-3 dots on pad) I would apply it to 2-3 panels at a time and had no problem wiping it off with a MF. Appearance-Not much better then the Ultra Fina finish section of the panel, really had to look hard to see the slightly deeper finish.

Lusso Oro wax applied by hand with red CCS applicator- You had me at the smell, very nice coconut oil scent. I applied it very thin using the CCS red applicator. Spreads very easy and only a small amount required. The instructions state to apply it to each panel, wait 60 seconds and then remove. I applied to the entire painted surface of the car, then went back and removed it right away. Removal seemed effortless. I applied 2 coats to ensure adequate coverage.

I like the red CCS applicator pad as the small pockets will hold a little extra product, so when the pad appears to be running low on product, just push the applicaitor down and you have enough to usually finish out a panel.

Here are some after shots, pics where taken at 5pm.

I am going to let the Lusso Oro wax ride on its own w/ QEW or Z7 washes. See what kind of durability I can get from it. I will try to do updates every 2-4 weeks.

Here are the claims from the Manufactor:

No other wax is better for your car's paint than LUSSO ORO.

Lasts months longer than the competition.

LUSSO ORO is hand crafted from the finest raw materials available.

LUSSO ORO will make your car shine with a deep luster and superior

finish that lasts longer than any other wax product.

LUSSO REVITALIZING CREME can deep clean your car's paint better

than any other car polish without the use of harsh abrasives.

Looks excellent Bryan! I am curious to see how long it lasts also.

Glad you are liking the Ultrafina. It seems like everyone who uses it loves it alot. To me, it is the only thing that finishes out perfect on soft blacks. The perfect blend of oils keep the dust in suspension and keep it marr free. So far, it has passed all the wipedown tests.

I hope someone imports the 3M Ultrafina 6" blue pads soon. Maybe detailersdomain will carry them someday. I still wanna try the 3M 80349 UK stuff.

Give me a call when you have some time. Again, GREAT JOB!

Thanks guys!

What's the difference from the old Lusso and the newer stuff? Is it the same? I know this has been around for a while.

Ryan, I do not know of any formula changes to the lusso wax.

Hey Bryan, that looks beautiful! I have to look into that Lusso stuff, I'm already using the polishes you used.

OMG that looks amazing Brian. You just made Lusso some money with this post (places order)

He sure did make them some money (places antoher order).

WOW!! That is some great depth and reflection.

Great information on Lusso and the cream also Bryan! The 4th shot of the trees is awesome! pure money in my book!............:bow

Very tempted to give the Lusso stuff a try after seeing the result on this BMW but will want to see how well it last before I make the order. Please keep us updated on your observation with this wax. Btw the BMW looks awesome.

Looks fantastic.

I've always just used the 4 passes as suggested on the ultrafina bottle and have never had a problem...before I read it thought I thought to myself "man....this stuff just buffs and buffs and buffs forever!" It's truly wonderful stuff and does what it was designed to very very well!

I will be sure to update with durability. The car will be sitting in the garage for at least a week after application, I will be sure to include that in my reports. I sent a part out to get rebuilt.

gmblack3a-That turned out great, and I just *love* how the color looks on that body style :xyxthumbs

I hear nothing but great stuff about the Ultra Fina

And it's nice to hear that you like the 3M Extra Cut...was it the old PI-III stuff that I use or something newer (like maybe PI-3000)?

Update

The car has only been driven about 5-6 times in the last 19 days since I applied the lusso.

I am having issues with the ABS computer in the car, its need to go back to the place that did the overhaul since its still not right. So it will not get driven that much over the next few weeks either.

Anyway here are a few beading shots since it was raining today. Driven about 5 miles total to pick up our daughter at school.

Final update

It has been 52 days total since I applied 2x of Lusso wax.

Car has not been washed in the last 3 weeks. It has been driven more then during the first review period. (5-6 times in the first 19 days.)

On the 9-11th of Feb, the car sat outside at the airport. Then a few days later it sat outside here at the house for 24 hours while it rained. (yes it rains sometimes here in GA.) :D

So today I did the following:

Rinsed car off with pressure washer.

Foamed with DG 901.

Cleaned tires and wells with AM Red hot APC 1:4

Cleaned wheels with PB SnR.

Rinsed off everything with PW.

Refoamed car and did a 2 bucket wash with DG901.

Dried car with WW towels.

What I discovered is that after the wash, there was very little beading on the horz. surfaces. I took this video while I used the hose (no PW) to see if I could get any beading.

Here are a few pics as well:

The vert panels still have some beading.

After drying, here is how the car looked:

Today I will apply some Z8 to the car untill I have time to get another LSP on the car next week.
