3M SMR vs. Original Meguiar's #9

I'm not having a lot of luck finding #9 2.0 locally so far and, judging by the relative availability of "good" detailing supplies, I wouldn't be surprised if no one stocked it.



I need a SMR appropriate for hand application. Most people recommend #9 2.0, with 3M SMR in second place, the latter of which I CAN get. Is 3M SMR preferable to the old #9 swirl remover?

i bought #9 today, the 3M SWR was a bit too pricey $37, compared to $13. I wanted the SWR for light coloured cars. I'm guessing the #9 wont be bad, heard its a workout though by hand. And ya, the 2.0 seems to be a difficult find.
