3M SMR: for dark and light cars

I have noticed that 3M offers two versions of SMR, one for dark cars and one for light cars. If the swirls are in the clear coat, what difference would the color of the car make? Does anybody know what the differences between these two products is? The only thing I can figure is that 3M has put tints in the two versions of SMR.

Their compositions are similar, but not identical and their dyes are different to match the car's colour.
