3M Performance Finish

White Toyota Yaris couple months old. I bought the Klasss AIO& Glaze. It really sounds like this Klasse and a lot of products have suffered since the VOC solvent laws. I have just been using meguars caranuba and it lasts about a week mabey two.





Thinking about trying this 3M performance finish. I want a long lasting wax Something that will hold up to a couple months of winter driving. I also drive at night and need something that the bugs don't stick to like glue.





Can you top 3M Performance Finish with something like 3M Perfect-It Show Car Paste Wax performance when you want to show off?





I know white cars are a different reed and will never give that wow factor, I'm after protection as I plan on keeping the car for 20 years (you read that right, its a toyota.)
 
Collinite 845 or 476 sound like a better bet. 845 is available at some Advance Auto parts stores.
 
For the 476 autogeek recommends removal by microfiber bonnet over a lambswool pad. I would need specific part numbers for these as I want to make sure I get the right items.
 
you just need a regular microfiber towel. 476 can be hard to remove if you put it on thick. Just use it VERY sparingly and it will be easy to remove. Two coats is definately less work that one thick one. IMO, the 845 looks a bit more blingy, but both last a LONG time and repel dirt very well. They bead water for at least six months.
 
On the autogeek site they say you can use the PC to remove it I have a "smartspad 6.5" professional wool pad and a Microfiber Orbital bonnet with a 5.5" backing plate. Would this set up work to remove the 467 as recommended by Autogeek?
 
It would remove it, but its not going to be much faster than by hand, and unless you keep changing bonnets, chances are you will get some dirt on it. I use a clean MF towel for every major panel on the car. Not a huge fan of using an orbital to remove any wax/sealant, but that's just me.

Meh, the consumer line stuff does trail off very fast. Though Meguiars says it is still protecting, it doesn't bead very long, hence the new "hydrophobic" stuff they have now. Gold class would look very dead compared to 845 or 476 after a few weeks.

Thats what I have been using the gold meguiars caranuba, I sear it lasts 2 rain storms, and thats it. Been using it because my car was in a wreck about 2 months ago and I needed something breathable. Looks good when you first out it on though,

If you like gold class looks, definintely go with the 845. Same looks but 10x the durability.
