I would like to know what every one here thinks of this product. (3M Perfect-it III Machinr Glaze part number 05937) Has anyone used it? It claims to be a swirlmark remover (non filling)

Thanks

Used to like it, but found that it can be a little "picky" with certain finishes. I've had both good and mediocre results with it.

I likey! :xyxthumbs

I like using PI-III MG and the results it provides. As Geeky said PI-III MG can be picky. This is why I use PI-III as middle or finishing step.

Geeky,

Whay do use in place of PI-III MG?

3M MG is my "workhorse" swirl remover. More bite than #9, no fillers, and almost as agressive as FI-II but easier to use, IMO. These days 3M Fine Cut Rubbing Compound and 3M P-III Machine Glaze are the two products I use the most for scratch and swirl removal.

Very good product but like Geeky stated can be very picky about type of surface it is used. Worked great on my GM paint (Z28) but not as easy to use on the Japanese paint (Lexus)- streaking / staining. :nixweiss

Is it worth the money. Should I buy it or should I get something else instead?

Yeah, *I* would say it's worth the $. Like Tort, I've done most of my recent polishing with 3M's RC and the MG (although I've been using 1Z polishes on my Audis, but they are VERY different products compared to the 3M stuff).

*IMO* you really won't go wrong with the 05937. The only problem *I* encountered was an occasional residue issue- hard to remove. I got it off with either Final Inspection or AIO.

I've been spending a lot of time playing with the Einszett polishes - Ultra, Paint Polish and Metallic Polish...I've found that they can do some great things and are incredibly easy to work with.

They're also really consistent - I like how they stay wet while you're working them with the buffer, and when you stop, they flash and dry quickly. Removal is very easy - simple wipe is all it takes.

I know they contain some fillers and oils, but man, they work so well....

Yeah, EXACTLY what GeekySteve said about the 1Z polishes :xyxthumbs Been thinking I'd like to try them with a rotary, and I haven't wanted to use one of THOSE in years!

Tried 3M and I prefer DACP. Once you figure out DACP, its a joy to work with IMO. As long as you work it long enough to break down, there is no issue with hard to remove residue.
