3M backing plate....

Does anyone know if the orange power pad will fit on a 3m backing plate for my circular polisher(Dewalt)

What size are your pads. If you are talking about the UK 3M packing plate it is only a 5 inch plate.

My pads i use are 3m and i believe they are 8.5 in...but im wanting to try a slightly smaller from Lake Country

I use the W66 Meguiars backing plate for the 6 inch pads or the US 3M backing plate for the bigger pads that you have.

Don't you find that the W66 sits very close to the of your pads for the 6 inchers? This was one of the reasons I went with the 3M.

It is no different when you use the 3M UK plate with the 5.5 pads. If you pay attention while you are working there should be zero problems.
