3M backing plate, is it really that better?

I like Lake Country backing plates. Particularly the 165mm. The flex makes for very good action on the machine.

I have the 3m one and it's pretty good. I'm looking to get a smaller version with the same quality. Made for 4 inch pads. I might have some made but I have to buy a batch of 50. It's not made in china though.
