Hello All,

More newbie questions:

1) Is there a 3M alternative to #80?

2) Which is best for swirl removal with a pc on a black truck, 3MPIIII Mach. Glaze 05937 or 3MPIII Finishing Glaze 05941?

3) Answer to #2, should I use propel's green or orange pad?

4) I have 3M's Swirl Remover for dark cars, should I not use this be it that it just "fills" swirl marks?

TIA

I haven't tried the new PI-3000 line yet, but for this I'd use either the 05937 or, if that didn't cut it, PI-III RC (05933). If you use the latter, be prepared to follow up with the 05937.

Haven't tried the 05941 but IMO most people won't want anything milder than the 05937.

Sorry, not familiar with Propel pads. I'd use a mild polishing pad, not a cutting pad. I don't use finishing pads with products having as much cut as 05937 but others do.

The SRM/Dark *does* do a little mechanical/abrasive work, but not much. It *is* primarily a filler, IMO, and mine's been sitting on the shelf neglected for many years ;)

As Accumulator said, if 05937 MG is not cutting it, you can try PI-III RC, which is slightly more aggressive than Megs #83. But be careful with it. It might not be as aggressive as it sounds, but it's still a compound though in the middle of #84 and #83 IMHO.

The 3M FG seems too mild...
