350Z + Poorboys Products = Sweet!

Here's a 350Z that I did for my boss last week. This was my first experience with SSR2.5 and EX-P. I found that the PB products are really easy to use, have a nice smell, and the results are pretty nice too. A tip of the hat to Steve for bringing us these fine products!

Nice! What pads did you use with each step? Make and type, for example-edge 2000 polishing or light cutting?

First, let me give some background on what I started with. My boss had to travel to NYC from Philly a few weeks ago and had to park under the train station. It rained, and A LOT of rail dust & unknown crud dripped on his car and produced nasty acid/etching marks over the entire car. When he returned, he complained to the parking lot manager. The manager said this was a common problem and offered to clean it. They did, with toilet bowl cleaner + soft scrub, and nylon toilet bowl brushes. He about sh** his pants when they finished. He had TONS of scratches from the brushes + most of the spots didn't lift. The week after that he had his driveway sealed. The folks that sealed the drive didn't bother to close his garage door and the back 1/3 of his car got coated with driveway sealer overspray. I clayed the car (3 bars) which removed the sealer overspray and a lot of the rail dust goo. Next I applied SSR2.5 with a yellow edge 2000 pad (rotary on the tops & PC on the sides). I followed up with another coat of SSR2.5 with a blue edge 2000 pad. Then 1 coat of PwC with an edge 2000 blue pad via PC. I topped it with EX-P, using a black edge pad via PC. I removed about 95% of the defects. A few spots probably need to be wet sanded, compounded, polished, etc... but I didn't have time (or the nerve) for that.

Wow! What an awesome job knowing the background. Thanks for sharing your pad selection. I can't wait to receive my Edge 2000 pads w/the quick connect system. They should be here Friday of this week as well as my PoorBoy stuff. Thanks for replying, AND GREAT WORK!! :)

Thanks for the kind words.

You'll REALLY love the PB products and edge 2000 pads. I had to purchase the counter weight for my PC to reduce the vibration.

Luv-N-It.

You're funny! I like the last post.

I just noticed that you're from Ohio. I'm from Columbus. The buckeye's are having a tough year!

Got to love that Poorboys line up. I have only used PB products a few times but I have been very pleased.

Nice work. I'm sure your boss is thrilled. Did he by any chance convince the parking garage people to pay for the great detail?

Shawn.

He didn't go back to the parking manager about paying for a detail, but I mentioned it to him. I was so pi$$ed when I saw it, and it's not even my car. I'm not even going to tell you how many hours (actually days) were invested in this one. I did it for free (plus I wanted to try out my new PB products),

It was well worth the opportunity to drive the new 350Z -tons of torque and power. :)

Did I mention that I ordered my PB products on Monday October 4th, and they were on my doorstep (I Live in Delaware) on Tuesday the 5th when I got home from work. That was by standard shipping. I couldn't believe it!
