So I got a late start this morning. Set the alarm clock for 4:45AM, got up and went back to sleep...LOL
Got to the Marina about 8AM, took about 30 minutes to set up. Had to carry everything from the truck to the boat...long walk....3 times.......

I did not finish the boat today, I could have, but didn't. I had to run to another town to meet a lady to look at her van, about an hour away. Will have to finish the boat Monday now, as they will be on it from tomorrow to Monday morning.
Anyways, I got the van detail.....LOL

I finished half the boat, a little more as a matter of fact. Nothing below the rub rail was to be done anyways (Hull) No floors, windows, or metal were to be cleaned either, just polish/wax the fiberglass.


I used my rotary with wool pads and 3M

Great job thus far chris. Have you always had the dewalt? Did you have many holograms from that combo? I always seem to get some when I do boats but It seems hard to avoid.

from what I have seen, there were none. There was not a whole bunch of sunlight shining in, so I am bringing my Halogens with me on Monday. Picked up the Dewalt a few days ago......
 
Wow! Are you planning on using it for just boats or are you going to slowly work it into cars?

Heck with a 74 ft. boat that DeWalt will practically be worn out...won't it...LOL!!!

Glad to see that you are getting your rest, doing some work, and getting new business.. That is called, in some circles, as time management.

Keep posting the details. I am certainly enjoying them!!

Just curious, why a DeWalt over a Makita?


Great work so far! It's got to be nice havng mostly flat surfaces to polish; though all the vertical panels would be murder with having to hold that buffer up!

I wanted the Makita, but NOBODY around town had ANY variable speed rotaries.....NONE. I was needed one quick, so I called my supplier and he brought me what he carried, a Dewalt. I have no complaints about it....

I picked it up mainly for boats, but I will be using it for cars as well. I need to re-adjust myself with it, as it has been a while. Practice fenders, here I come!

HAHA, with a 74foot boat, my arms would fall off....LOL
