303 Aerospace Protectant Questions

DEEP & WET
Is this the best stuff to use on the dash? Will it also restore the black color to the window seals and other black plastic surfaces?

Thanks

Best is a very subjective term. However, many people swear by this product for providing good protection with low sheen.

Use Search and I'm sure you'll find a lot of info.

I love 303, but if there is a lack of availability, I find Vinylex a very good substitute.

But as Kartoon said, best is very subjective.....

How does it compare to this?

I apologize for the best word. It is rather subjective. I need something that will protect the window trim and dash. It seems the above product can be used on the tires as well. I'm just looking for opinions on these various products. What does everyone else use and why?

I like the low sheen of 303 and the UV protection it provides. You can actually pick up 303 at a Boat/Marine store or depending where you are at some local auto stores now carry.

It won't 'restore' black to the surfaces you discussed if they are UV damaged of faded. It may darken it up but not 'restore'.

I also like Einszett Cockpit Premium as a quick detailer for the interior but still use the 303 as well because of the UV protection.

you might want to look into mother's "back to black."

does a fantastic job of restoring dash to proper color.

303 is more a protectant. the back to black is a dash restorer product.

used it on a black 1993 plymouth sundance with red interior.

the car was filthy inside, i don't think it had ever been cleaned.

the dash was pink before i started. when i finished,

the interior came out a beatiful deep red.

the owner thought i had bought a new dash and installed it.

anyways says back to back but don't worry, works on all dash colors.

you can find it locally at autozone and pepboys.

Autogylm is a great product (used it for many years) but IMO 303 is better (not best LOL)

I believe that the 303 has better UV protection that the AG. Although UV protection is not something used as a selling point over here in the UK

With 303 it leaves a satin finish. I used Ag Vinyl and Rubber exclusivly inside my cars since about 1996. I have recently ( last month or so) gone over to 1z Cockpit Premium, as the AG is quite glossy. I am trying to maintain the totally flat look inside my car and neither 303 or Ag do it. Even i application of 303 in my eyes changed the look off my dashboard.

I still love AG Vinyl and Rubber and will continue to use it on my tures and engine bay.

Which you buy imho is down to the look you want. Gloss, Satin or mattt.

i use 303 and really like it. It works great on interiors that are not f'd up. as stated earlier, it doesn't really restore dash's, but it offers great protection, its not all slimy, and isn't too glossy so it doesn't blind you when sun hits it.

Here'e what works for me.............

I've been using the 303 & the 1Z Cockpit Premium ( CP as a QD ) & the 1Z Tiefenpfleger on the interior of my vehicles (dash, console, panels, seals etc. ) for a number of years. I rotate between the 303 & the Tiefenpfleger just......well....because I can! lol One product I really like to use that restores window seals, mud guards & my bedliner in my truck is the Meguiar's #38 Tire & Trim Dressing Gel. From time to time I'll "top" the #38 with 303 or Armor All on my bedliner for some added u.v. protection from the Texas sun! As for the tires...... I've used Armor All for years. I like the natural deep black look of it on the tires. ( the oily look is not my style for tires ) What's funny is I've never used Armor All for the interior of my vehicles.....just tires & trims. I'm now using the Zaino Z16 on the tires. It's a terrific product IMO. Just like the Zaino polishes.....a little goes a long way!

In closing.....try the 1Z,303 products.......and whatever you do.....Give the Meg's #38 & Zaino Z16 a try!!

I'm a 303 fan - it works and the low dust attraction is another plus. I deal with that tough Texas sun, as well, so you gotta get something to protect - or wish you had!

You might want to also consider Adam's VRT - supposed to have even more protection than 303 and seems to yield a "richer/deeper" glow/shine, if that's your style. The Adam's is a tad thicker so it spreads a bit further for me. Adam's is GREAT on tires and I've also started using it on the interior as well. 303 v Adams is somewhat of a toss up for me with a slight nod to Adams.

I am a big fan of 303 and 1z CP The other day i was out and needed something quick so I tried Mothers Protectant and mush to my surprise it was very nice. Just a little on the shiny side but it really seems durable

If you've gotten a free sample of 303, how long did it take for you to get it. I think it's been over a week now. I'm excited about getting to try this stuff.

I love to use 303 on the dashboard and other interior things on all the cars that I work on. It gives it a new, satin look. I have not tried Auto Glym so I cannot compare. All I can say is that I think 303 is a great product. You can also use it on your tires. The only thing bad about it is it is a bit pricy but worth it!

Does 303 have light cleaners in it?

It's not a cleaner but a protectant. 303 does sell several cleaners, including a convertible top cleaner. You can check out their product line HERE and order from them. I find it much easier to just order online then hope that the local Autozone has it.

I swear by the stuff myself. I love the fact that it isn't glossy or slippery. It gives my car's black interior an every so slightly "clean" look but looks natural. It doesn't attract dust like so many of the other protectants. I can honestly say it's the best stuff I've ever used. I use it on the plastic trim on the outside of my car and it works well except you have to use it very sparingly or else it will run off when it gets wet. I rub it in very, very well on the outside trim pieces.

This time around I purchased their protectant along with their cleaner and spot remover, fabric guard and convertible top cleaner.

However if you want to restore badly faded plastic/trim pieces I'd use "Back to Black".

So, from what I've gathered, I will use the "Back to Black" on my dash for restroation purposes and top it w/ the 303 as a protectant.

For the window seals and various other moldings, I will use the Megs #38 and top that with the 303 as well.

If this sounds like a' pretty good idea, let me know.

Thanks for all the responses,

JJ
