Leo is having a 30% off labor Day sale at DF Concours now through Sept. 7. Don't forget your discount code of Autopia for an additional 5% off.

Might be a good time to stock up on some towels or other goodies that he offers.

Wow that looks like a great sale! But it seems he only has two towel sizes now? 13x13 and 17x17? Is that right?
I think when he came out with the new style towel (AlpineFiber 3) that he revamped the sizes offered. Below is a quote from Leo (on another site) dated around the end of March.
.....As far as downsizing is concerned... the small towels have GROWN to 13x13, the Mediums have GROWN to 16x30, only the Medium-Smalls have gone from 19" square to 17" square. When the old 19" towels where washed they shrunk to about 18", the new fabric is pre-shrunk so basically there isn't that much difference. The fabric is also 48% plusher!.......
Not sure what happened to the 16 x 30 towel he mentioned..... either out-of-stock or discontinued.

He used to have so many sizes it made my head hurt...I have SO MANY MF's, but it's hard not to consider a six pack of 17x17 for ~$3.50 each--oh wait, the shipping is over $8! Decisions, decisions...

that has got to be one of the worst sites I have ever been on. It looks like theres only 4 things for sale on the site, horrible........

All the cheapo colors remind me of the old 386 computers...

'Well, even with a 50% reduction .... any modern, quality *real microfiber* will perform better than these 19th-century cotton towels.\r\n\r\nWake up guys. I admit I bought a pair one year ago, believing their \"alpine fiber\" stuff. Wrong buy. These two towels are long gone.'

Has anyone used their Concours towels? If so, what do they compare to? I've tried searching, but with no luck.. probably because 'DF' is too short to search for.

You need to click on the link in the upper left that says "visit our online store". This is the mfrs. site, not a general store, so he doesn't have the full range of detailing supplies.

Initially I was not too happy with version 2 of the Concours towels and did not think I would buy any of the present version (#3); but I caved in and did so. I am very pleased with version 3. You should be aware that this towel is a microfiber made from cotton and it has all the feel of cotton. As such, it has been approved by Zaino for use with Zaino products. Additionally, it removes waxes better than any microfiber I have ever used and I have a bunch from Pak Shak and some from Autopia. I don't think it is particularly good at drying or for use with a QD, but for removing polishes, waxes etc., it can't be beat.

I also found that the site did not accept "Autopia" for an additional 5% discount, but DF Concours' own internal discount code "return" did work.

Just put some stuff in your cart. The discount shows up when you view the cart/checkout. You'll also have the opportunity at that point to put in a discount code.

Thanks! :woot2:

I have a bunch of the version 1 towels....very nice towels..very silky....I did not get any V2 towels..but I have heard good on the V3 towels..so I am grabbing another dozen of them at the savings...these towels are great polish removal towels and also the final buff towels....

After seeing this post I checked it myself, the Autopia code works just fine. Just enter it in the coupon code of the shopping cart.

You may not realize it but the shipping weight is over 3 pounds.

Yet USPS flat rate boxes are still less than 10 dollars to anywhere in the US no matter how much weight you put in them. 50 pounds or 4 ounces, same less than 10 dollar price.

It's because of the added handling fees.

BTW 19"x19" CBT towels are on sale at autopia-carcare.com and for 6 towels the shipping fee is $9.95. Use "autopia" for an additional 10% off.

However, even taking shipping into account, DF still comes ahead at six 17" x 17" = $5.81 per towel versus Autopia's six 19"x 19" towel = $11.11 per towel.

Autopia discount code did not work for me either moment ago. Is it case sensitive and has to be typed in with capital A?

In any case, I ended up canceling the order. I was pumped up about getting some towels and that filtering system but $52.50 shipping quote on what is $200-ish order (six 6-pack of towels, double filtering system and one set of spare cartridges) poured cold water on my enthusiasm in no time flat.
