Let me just say that I've been lurking here for awhile and have loved nerding out on autotopia. I've got a few major scratches to fix on my black magic 04 passat and just orderd some 4" orange lc pads and the 3.5" bp and picked up a 3.5" pfw and 4" wool pad. Now, will I be able to slap the pfw on this backing plate? No, no? Be careful? Thanks dudes. I just wasn't happy with the result my 6/6.5 pads on the pc. Black looks sweet but is a ***** with rids, etc.

matt2616- Welcome to Autopia!

I'd get the smaller, 2.75" plate. Even with it, there's not a *whole* lot of wiggle-room as the PFW pads sorta compress/etc. in use. You *really* don't want the small backing plate hitting the paint, it'd be off to the bodyshop.

You might oughta get some milder 4" pads. The 4" orange never leaves things ready to wax IME and I don't like using larger pads for that (post 4" orange) step.

Werd. Thanks for the feedback. Pretty much what I figured but didn't want to hear, se la vie;). Kind of pisses me off that lc doesn't just offer the pfw in 4", I mean, it's not like they sell backing plates (at least I don't think so, maybe?)...I smell capitalist conspiracy with a bp manufacturers:laugh:. Then again, I think logical reasoning from studying lsat all day is making me paranoid.

Something like October 9th. I'm just trying to get the hang of the analytical reasoning section, logical reasoning and reading comprehension seem pretty straightforward so far. I'm taking a class as soon as I go back to school, so, we'll see. I highly recommend just getting a book and taking a few tests for the helluvit. I think it's kinda fun, but I'm a nerd:)

I've always found epistemology/logic interesting, so I understand your finding it fun. Understanding how to think is useful, makes life easier. Good to hear your looking ahead too, rather than waiting until after classes resume :xyxthumbs
