#26 v/s #16

I have experience with #26 and lots on the shelf but with my black car and the summer heat here I find it tends to suffer from meltdown and have an oily / greasy appearance at times.

I am looking to possibly using #16 as a topper for the Zaino/Sg I am playing with.

1) How does #16 compare to the ease of application & removal of #26?

2) In your past experience is #16 deeper/wetter than #26?

I'm not interested in S100 or the other hi-priced spreads so lets not go there.

1) Both are easy to use. With #26, I apply it to the whole car, then go back and remove. #16, a panel at a time and remove.

2). #16 is wetter and more reflective. #26 has a somewhat softer look and a touch deeper.

S100 is high priced? Anyway, #16 looks very similar to S100 but is proving to be more durable.

S100 is 3 bucks more than #16.

Not up here .. you have to order out of the US or settle for P21S

I haven't been able to find S100 in Western CanaDUH .. none of the Harley Shops carry it.

P21S Concours-look Carnauba Wax 175g Price:$41.95

Borrow the PC, yeah. Popcorn....not yet. I want to drop another 15 pounds or so. My only snacks are fruit and Total cereal. Skating 60-75 miles a week helps....:D

Iceman told me that the Harley shop in Langley (Southside Harley, I think) has S100. Might want to give them a call. Would be worth your while.

Regardless of S100 availability, I know what you mean about the oily look of #26. I think it usually happened when I applied more than one coat too quickly or something. But whatever causes it, I have never had that problem with #16.

I did a coat of 16 this weekend (easy on & off using the panel-at-a-time) and I'll be doing another coat in the next couple days - but what kind of results would you expect from putting a layer of 26 on the 16? How about 16 on 26? Has anyone tried this?

Nooo.. I was looking at using #16 to top the Zaino/SG I been playing with .. not to top #26... ty anyway

I did just that last night. Did surface prep with #82 which left a nice glossy surface so I skipped #7 and applied a layer of #26 (paste). I waited about an hour after buffing it and then applied a layer of #16. This was all late last night and I haven't really had a chance to get a good look at it because it is covered in pollen now from being outside at work. I'll wash it this afternoon and see if I can get a good pic.

As for layering, I had an initial problem with the paint being rough after I washed. I applied 1 coat of #16, waited an hour and applied another coat. 1 week later, I washed and the paint was rough. Ended up using QD, paint smoothed out and I applied another coat of #16.

I'm really happy. QD yesterday and the paint was smooth and slick.

As for applying, I'm going to do WOO method next time as I've been doing the whole car letting it sit about 5 mins. and then removing. I must be going SUPER thin, cause I don't have any problems with removing...just like #26 after it sits for 15-20mins.
