I do realize that there is another link topic.
This thread already has 100 replies and is 2 years old (almost).
Which is why we should start a new thread for more current
and better organized backlinking for our sites.
In order to participate in this thread, simply post a url of your page,
or a specific article that you want to promote. You also want to link any
social networks that usually use (Facebook fan pages and such).
This method works on reciprocity. I scratch yours and you scratch mine.
If we just link our page, we never know who scratched what. This is why we
need to have some structure.
STRUCTURE :
When someone submits a link, it is most important that you like and share
the links on social network. Document this in reply by posting
Website XYZ liked and shared on Facebook, Google + etc.
If you just liked, but didn't share, just document that you shared the page
and in what networks.
Ideally, if you like and share sometimes link, they should do the same to yours.
If we get our members link sharing properly, we can make this a very powerful thread.
What is backlinking and why do I care?
Very simply, this type of linking is just putting your Url into other pages.
Is there such a thing as too many backlinks?
Generally, more is better. This does not mean that you should put your Url into
every page that you can find. This can get you in trouble. It can list your Url as
Spam, which can be a death blow to your Google ranking.
Also, do not use the backlink submitters that promise 50 thousand
links. This is another way to hurt your ranking. Don't try shortcuts.
Are all links created equal? Lincoln might say so, but I would disagree.
With revamp of ranking system in last 5 years, they have put emphasis on
social networks, making shares and likes from there more powerful.
Even normal websites are ranked with their power.
We call this Page Rank. The higher page rank, the more that
Google gives credit to links on that page. There are a few more factors,
but Page Rank is a very useful tool to learn to utilize.
