The owner contacted me about his baby that has been in the parking lot of the apartment complex for a year. The car only had 2,718 miles on it. When I inspected it it had some minor swirls, a couple rids, and heavy water spots. I asked about his care procedure for it. He advised it has only seen the touchless wash down the street, and had only waxed it once.
He was moving back into his house with a garage and wanted this brought back to its glory. I advised on what I could do for the car from a simple wash and wax to a full correction. Based on the budget we agreed on a one step correction and a separate sealant, coat exterior trim, detail engine and clean and seal the interior.
Process:
Engine: DG APC 20:1 with light agitation
Clean wheel wells: 303 Marine Citrus Degreaser
Clean tires: Mothers Back-to-Black Tire Renew
Clean Wheels: DG All Wheel Cleaner
Clean/Polish Exhaust tips: Never Dull
Decon Paint: IronX and after dwelling for 5 min I applied IronX Snow Soap diluted 8:1 in a spray bottle as a pre-soak.
Wash: IXSSl 3oz in 4 Gal with 2 oz of DG APC
Clay: Fine grade Nanoskin Sponge with ONR as clay lube
Paint/Window Polish: Menz PF2500 with LC Orange Flat pad and Cyan 4"pad (After a few test spots the white paddid not correct enough)
Seal Paint: Mix of DG 601/105 two coats
Trim Coating: TW Trim coating
Tires/Engine Dressing: Opti Bomd applied with a paint detail gun
Windows/Nav Screen Cleaner: Mothers Revision
Interior Cleaned: DG APC 20:1
Interior Sealed: Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant
Before:
After: (Sorry not to many as the client had to leave)
The client was blown away. He said after seeing this he did not know what clean was, and it did not look that good the day he bought it.
He then asked me about proper care (which was the first time I have not had to approach the client with the info) and said he wanted to keep it like this.
He has also sent 2 more basic wash and wax/interior jobs my way. Just waiting for the rain to pass to get to them.
Any and all feed back is appreciated
Thanks for looking.
