2014 audi s5 2step and PA Centurion/Zirkon

I decided this car needed a proper thread even though I never got a proper sun reveal.
I`ve known the owner of this car for several years through the car club. She traded up and into this sweet 2014 S5 with 16k or 18k miles, I forget which one.
She immediatly contacted me and said "I need you to work your magic on it" and expressed a concern with her wheels specifically "They`re really bad" which coming from here I knew was probably a serious issue.
She had the car at my house the next weekend and the journey began. Sometimes you get those jobs that really test your patience and skill. I thought this one was beyond me on several aspects, but luckily I was able to push through it and give her the car she meant to purchase, but better. :)

wash: 2bm, pb iron removal, pb foam, pb sss
clayed
rupes polishers and urofiber pads w/ the last cut compound and then yellow rupes pads with polish angel final finish

wheels: two iron removals and lots of tlc with poorboys a&m hd polish and some cut up rupes green pads that had shred themselves into another use
sealed three times (several hours apart) with polish angel super sport

tires: pb apc clean, pb bold n bright

the ppf: same thing as the paint but did a few extra passes to cut into whatever madness someone had installed into the ppf

glass moonroof was polished with pa final finish as it was heavily water stained as well

the paint: the only thing that remained were the RIDS, I ended up doing two slow and long passes with the compound and finishing it up with the final finish on speed 4.5 and I think it turned out fantastic except for the large and deep scratcehs you`d still find here and there

LSP: polish angel centurion, then polish angel gold zirkon
glass- polish angel diver

gave the owner two unopened blue dmts, a new micro chinelle wash mitt and a 16 bottle of n914 concentrate along with a list of recommended items to purchase from autopia (glissante, spray and wipe, grit guard, and a big blue drying towel)

all in all I dealt ppf that was tremendiously worse off than the bare black paint, wheels that may not have ever been cleaned properly by the previous owner, type I and II water spot etching, RIDS and whatever extreme RIDS would be called and exhaust tips that absolultely had never been touched in the life of the car

I was happy to be able to save the owner much more than the cost of the detail, which was more than she initally had anticipated but I think the results speak for themselves

She is very happy and has messaged me both days since she has had the vehicle back and sent me a picture the first day and earlier today she sent me a picture montage of shots I took on her phone of the car when she picked it up and told me she was going to name it The Black Widow. I told her I liked that name for the car, seems fitting.

Great work as always Brandt, I love those cars and it would be on my short list for my next toy if I were not a V8 addict.

Great job. Some more details on how you did the exhaust, that is really impressive.

I was thinking the same thing!

512: You should be really proud - you really turned that thing around! And talk about a going away present - she got quite the goodie bag on pick up.

One other thing I was wondering- Do you use a paint thickness gauge? If so, how did that all look?

I think this is your best work to date better than your own car! Absolutely perfect reflection shots.

Nicely done

Nice job Brandt and thanks for sharing your experience.

cleaned with a soapy rag during wash but that didn`t do much - I should probably get that p21s polishing soap eventually

the tips were scrubbed with Sonax chrome and aluminum paste (with a cut up rupes green pad) and a little 0000 steel wool was used and followed up with more of the paste, topped that with PA supersport

I try to give all my clients at least one decent towel and I advise them where to buy more of these at and I even let them know when sales are on. I make them a list of what I`d recommend buying to maintain it. Most people don`t follow the directions but I can at least say I tried.

I also give them an ounce or two of n914 rw since its so dilutable..in this case I gave her a 8oz container with the 1/2 measuring thing in it to disperse out properly. I told her at minimum she can put it in her wash bucket to help soften the water.

As far as the PTG- I use the basic one they sell here... the readings were around 4.2-4.6 or so I never saw anything under 4.2 that I can recall. Never saw any 5.0s either.
