The owner of this car was referred to me by a previous client. The car was previously worked on by a local dealer and the owner was very unhappy with the quality of the work. The metallic black exterior was covered in swirls, rotary burns and scuffs which were driving the him crazy. He also wanted it to be a lot easier to maintain, as most owners of black car do.
Before Pictures
bugs built up on the front bumper cover
good amount of dirt on the exterior of the car
lots of dirt built up on the rear as is typical with most cars
brake dust and tar built up on the wheels
some type of film that has built up on the a-pillar
Wash/Decon Process
started the process with a strong foam pre-soak
The car was placed on jack stands and the wheels were pulled during the washing process.
the wheels were pulled for a thorough cleaning
tar-x was used to break down build up road tar on the barrles
leaving a nice clean barrel to be coated
the faces were cleaned with Megs Super Degreaser and various brushes
the wheel wells and calipers were also going to receive a good cleaning
they were treated with Super Degreaser and scrubbed with varies brushes
leaving a nice clean wheel well
Post Cleaning Condition
after being washed it was evident that there was quite a bit of damage on the exterior. the trunk had a good amount of RIDS, swirls and rotary burns
sanding marks on the passenger side front door
the roof also had a good amount of swirls on the roof along with RIDS
the hood also had quite a bit of damage on it
Correction Process
the car was then pulled into the garage and placed on jack stands and the wheels were removed again to be coated
a 50/50 shot after being compounded with Americana IAT1500 on the passenger front fender
another 50/50 shot, but on the hood this time.
50/50 on the driver side front door
nice mirror like finish after being compounded
50/50 shot on the rear deck lid
before photo of the trim between the windows
after being compounded
the exterior was then polished with Reflect to squeeze out that last bit of gloss
Coating Application
the wheels were coated with CQuartz UK
they were then cured under the IR lamp
after being cured the tires were coated with Black Pearl for a nice glossy look
CQuartz Finest was applied and the vertical panels were cured using the IR lamp. i now see why guys were saying they think there is more gloss when coating are cured with an IR lamp
The Beauty Shots
the gloss and depth was amazing after the coating
Thanks for looking!
