Hi everyone, we had another Ford Focus in the shop today. This vehicle was scheduled to get the full Car Pro treatment which included Cquartz Finest, DLUX on the trim, and FlyBy30 on the glass.
When we recieved the vehicle it was filty. It wasn't just dirty, but it was also caked with road salt and chemicals from the light snow we have gotten lately.
We started with the wheels using Iron X on the wheels, and Blackfire APC on the tires and wheel wells. We finally got to try out our new Wheel Woolies, and we are huge fans of them! Not sure how we survived so long without them!
Here is how the wheel, tires and wells turned out at the end.
We then moved to the paint. We sprayed down the car to remove any loose dirt, then did an APC foam soaking to break up as much as possible. It was freezing outside so we didn't get any pics of the wash. After the wash we noticed some overspray from a recent trip to the bodyshop, so we did some very light spot claying on the rear hatch and bumper as well as the rear doors.
The paint was in amazing shape, but since it was getting coated we wanted it perfect. We ended up going over the paint with a finishing polish that we have been testing. It doesn't have a lot of cut, but it cleaned up any marring left over from the clay, and gave us a great finish the coat.
Before the coating, we removed the rear emblems per the customer's request. We used a heat gun and some floss to remove the letter, and then cleaned it up with some IPA, and then buffed the area with Fixer to remove any marring from the removal process.

We then did a full wipedown of the paint, glass, wheels, and trim with Eraser to make sure the paint was perfectly free of oils so that the different products would bond. We started with FINEST which was applied to every inch on paint, and all four wheels. We cured it under the hot halogen lights to make sure it would be good to go by the time the vehicle left our shop. We then applied Car Pro DLUX to all of the plastic and rubber trim on the exterior. This product is so easy to apply, and will protect the trim for well over a year. It also does a great job of bringing back faded trim. Finally with used FlyBy30 to coat all of the glass on the vehicle, and again, backed it under the warm lights.
Finally with applied two coats of Car Pro PERL to the tires and here is how the car turned out. I want to say, I love Opti-Guard, but I don't think it even comes close to FINEST in terms of looks. FINEST makes every vehicle I apply it to a glossy, mirror like finish. Combine that with the amazing swirl resistance and hydrophobic properties, and you have a real winner!
